Safe area where you always can get him, protect him from predators, vaccinated if any wild rabbits are anywhere close or RHD is reported, used to eating grass, etc. etc..

Well, all my rabbits are all outside right now, 2 in the front yard, 2 in the fenced vegetable garden, and 3 somewhere on the meadow or in the wood, need to go check that they aren't in the neighbours vegetable plot again.....

Depends on what your definition of "warm" is

If he is indoors only I wouldn't put him out into freezing weather. Other than that I wouldn't worry much about cold if it's warm enough for you sitting out there watching him, say, above 10-15°C. Heat is the bigger problem outside. Also, their activity spans are rather short, I wouldn't put him out for hours if not used to it.

Ah, and just to point that out, my rabbits grew up with that kind of freedom, you can't do it that way. If you just set your rabbit in the garden it very likely will end with you trying to catch a scared rabbit. No matter how docile they are when they get nervous they go everywhere except where you want them. Some kind of pen definitly is a good idea, start with a small radius, and give him more space with time. I would put a pen or fence around the door and let him hop in and out as he pleases.

There are 3 deadly viruses you can get a new combo vaccine for all three and he will be protected for one year, older vaccines are two shots and you will need to do twice after 14 days and they are only for 6 months (which is fine if he is indoors and you only let him out in summer).

After he is vaccinated you will need to make sure your backyard is safe for him, it is walled so he can't run away or predators can't get to him like cats birds etc, there's no poisonous weeds in your backyard, he has a shelter from sun and wind and rain and he has fresh water available all the time.

Yeah I know about the diseases , my rabbits died from them . I'm planning to get him vaccinated soon at my local vet

That's great, you can ask your vet if they have that combo vaccine in the link I've sent you, you can send that ink to your vet and ask if they have it or use older version.

Yeah, I wouldn’t let Apollo outside if he wasn’t vaccinated. Especially if you know that it’s present in your garden. As for the weather/temperature, spring is the best time to take them out

I asked my vet this and she said I COULD assuming a safe environment of course but she did warn that I would potentially put him at a higher risk for things like fleas, mites, ticks, etc that other animals have carried into our yard. So I personally opted not to. (Admittedly, I am a total nervous nelly with bugs)

If you decide to let your rabbit outside (after all the series of vaccinations) then it is best to set up an ex-pen and not just let him loose in the yard. If you just let him loose, you'll have a hard time trying to get him back in. You'll end up having to chase him around the yard to catch him and that won't be good for you or for him.

If you use an ex-pen, then the space is limited and you can use the pen to shrink the space in until it is small enough to get him back in the carrier to bring inside. Do not ever carry a rabbit in your arms to take him from indoors to out (or anywhere for that matter). They can squirm and get dropped, and then get injured from the fall or escape. Use a carrier or box.

Whenever your rabbit is outside, it is necessary for you to be outdoors and close by at all times. It only takes a moment for a bird of prey to swoop down.
