I own 1 dutch and 1 mini-rex. Their cages seem to small forthem. They have a house, litter box, toys, food bowl, and water bottlein their cages. We are making them a new cage but we were wondering howbig we should make it. They live outside and need a wooden cover orsomething. Another thing is the Dutch is pregnant. I would like to getthem some more toys but they don't have enough room. They are in theircages for at least 9 1.2 hrs because I am in school then. Then I comehome do hw and then get them out to play with. The bottom of the cageright now is wire. We dont have any thing done yet so the moresuggestions the better.

P.S. The Gemine(dutch) is 5 months old and Leo(mini-rex)is 3 months old.
Please Help me as soon as possible since I would really like to get them settled...

I'm pretty sure that the ideal size cage shouldbe about 4 times the length of the rabbit. Cosmo is about 3pounds and his cage is 58" by 29" by 29". Any cage withdimensions that fall below 20", I feel, is too small....however, themore time they have out of the cage...the smaller a cage you canget. Hope this helps.

Vness you are right, an ideal hutch should be at least 4 times the size of your rabbit.

Allows them room to stretch out and not feel cramped and of course room to play and grow
:D

Thanks ya'll! I will be building it thisweekend... We are planning on building a huge wooden/ wire cage forthem. They are in the cage alot since I am in school, moms at work, sisis at school, and the aunts at work. They are in the cage at least 91/2 hrs a day. I hate them getting bored but I really dont know how tofix it.
