Here is the one Sweetie Pie is in, I'd love tosee what kinds of cages all of you have. The negative to thecage I have is that the hay comes out all the time.

we've got a box she jumps on the box, then intothe cage. She could (and has) jump from the floor right intothe cage, but I worry about her hurting herself, so I make sure the boxis there.

Here is BunBun's, it's about 6 foot long by 2.5foot wide and tall. I made it by joining up two chicken rearing cagesand found some plastic matting in someones rubish and that's theflooring. I find his poops roll out onto the ground a lot but I justpick them up and/or vacuum his cage out every day. He's got two litterboxes, a sqaure of carpet, a box to hide in, some dangly toys to rattleand d-cups to hold his food.

It's not pretty but it's superbly functional and roomy and it wasreally cheap to make. The cages were only $10 each, the rest of thestuff in it I got for free. So it was a $20 cage that is more thantwice as big as his starter cage was and that cost $110! I have a bigpiece of plywood I use to block the kitchen off from the rest of thehouse and he roams in and out of his cage all day.

I'm going to try and pretty it up soon, I will be taking of those bigugly strips of metal and putting in some nice shelving when he recoversfrom his neutering.

yeah, theyre awesome! Mine cost like 30 bucks and its huge! read down a bit on that thread and I explain all about it!

Yeah just did, where can you get them? Does Walmart stillcarry them? Can I get them on ebay? What are they called NICcubes...neat idea cubes?

It depends where you buy them. Its just a type of shelving, so it goes by lots of different names.

I bought mine at Target (called Oragnize-It White Wire Storage) and Iknow theyre on sale right now for about 12-13 bucks a box. They come inall colors, white, black, blue,or silver. I needed2 boxes to make a good sized cage (with some left over). Its good tohave extra too bc you can use them to make gates or play pensetc.

I know lots of people have been able to find them at Walmart as well..probably in hardware or storage or something...

Heres a link for more info in our resource section:http://rabbitsonline.net/view_topic.php?id=11792&forum_id=17therestons of different ideas/designs etc... the one titled cavy cages hassome awesome instructions!

Lori - you and I have the same cage (did you getthe deluxe? we did since we have 2 bunnies)- not a surprise consideringour bunnies were adopted from SweetBinks too. We have ours setupdifferent though. I use 2 straw mats (yes they keep getting replaced)on the bottom. (bought from PetCo). Each covers about a third of thecage. On the right side I have their litterbox going across. In front Iput down a towel and covered that with hay. I keep paperbags on thebottom of the tray to help keep it clean. (No they dont chew it- cantreally get to it). We tried the hay trough but just last wk took itdown and put the hay in the front right corner instead. We have ahanging bunny toy inside. A toy carrot hanging on the side. A salt lickon the side. (They really dont use these though). Hanging water bottle, ceramic food dish. We did buy a shelf w/stairs (dont use stairs) atPetCo. They like to jump up on this to lay down sometimes (1 bunny at atime).

Their cage is in our living room/dining room. We have boxes laying outon the floor so they can climb through, under, etc. In the morningsthey run binkies.

I'm not sure if mine is the deluxe, it was the smaller one andsince Sweetie Pie seems to like to stay in it so much I'm thinking abigger one would be better. I like the idea of building myown. I still have to find a better way to keep the hay fromfalling out all the time. The hay I got from sweet binks isin these big balls and hard to separate. I think the nexttime I'll get the cut up kind.

Lori a friend of my husbands saw that I had thecage sitting directly on the LR rug. He brought over a sheet that wekeep under the cage. Seems to contain some of the hay. I also have 2litter boxes out in the LR that I filled (covered bottom) w/hay. Theyhavent been kicking it out. I did notice you have an awful lot of hayon the bottom tray. We dont have any in there. (paperbag linerinstead). We have a small pile sitting on the grate on the front rightcorner.

Lori I was just looking over this thread again!

You have her cage right on a linoleum floor! You may want to try arugged area. I had their cage on the kitchen linoleum floor when wewere having the house painted. They refused to come out! Their feetcant move on linoleum.

HI,

cute bunny! I had my bunny in a similar cage to yours, butshe out grew it!! Someone gave me an awsome idea... I boughta dog cage. She has a lot of room to stretch and she islitter box trained. Igot her a cat bed and it fitswith room to spare. She also likes the cage tray in thesummer, it keeps her cool. She didn't like being on the wirefloor!! It cost the same as the bunny cage. I foundbunny cages cost a lot.

Again very cute bunny!!:bunnydance:

Here's the home for two of ours, it's about 6 fttall with 3 levels connected with ramps, plus a 4th level platform tojump up onto. The 3rd level has a hideout area in the middlefor bunny chill out time. Click on the images for a largerversion.

This is Boudicca on the bottom floor, she's a ND.

And this is Gandalf up on the platform, he's a ND mix.
