Bunny Discipline?

So I'm very much a dog person. When they poop or pee somewhere they're not supposed to, I take them to it, tell them no, and then put them outside and praise them when they go potty outside.

I have no idea how to do that with a rabbit. Our bunny Flower has some issues with dropping poops on our bed (she's able to hop up on the bed when we're around) and she keeps wanting to mark the wall. Now I know the marking is because she isn't spayed yet so normally if I see her really sniffing at the wall I just plop her down in her enclosure before she has a chance. (She has an appointment to get spayed in mid August, they couldn't get her in any sooner).

Is there anything I can do about the droppings?

Just pick 'em up and plop them into her litterbox! There's really nothing more you can do about it until she's fixed.

Rabbits are almost always better with their potty habits once they've healed from neuter surgery. Once they are 100% with urinating in the litter box, they are considered trained. Occasional poos scattered here and there are the norm for most rabbits. It is the rare rabbit that is ever 100% with poos.

Of the rabbits I've had, only one was 100%. Larry (@Nancy McClelland) has rescued many rabbits (somewhere around 40+) and I believe they have had just 1 or 2 that were 100%.

As for training, once she's spayed, it should only be a matter of providing an enticing litter box. She'll train herself. Just be sure her roaming space isn't expanded too quickly and she should remain consistent.

She only ever pees outside her litter box when she's intentionally marking, otherwise she's super super good about it. And good to know on the poops, she's worse about it in her enclosure, but we figure that's her space and if she doesn't like it poopy she'll figure it out.
