my sister begged me to buy a little lop, so igot it for her and when we brought her home i noticed she has a littlecough and a runny nose, ive kept her inside away from the other bunnys.she is eating and drinking fine. shoud i take her to a vet or is itmaybe just a cold?

hello

The cough I would have checked out and Definately if the mucus comingout of her nose is anything but clear (green, brown,ect...see vet asap).....

yeah I would have her checked out. It could bean upper respiratory infection or something that needs to be treatedwith antibiotics.

Keep us posted!

her cough is gone and nose has stopped running, but im going to have her checked up anyway just to be safe. i thinkthis is the month for sick pets for me.:(
my vet isnt rabbit savvy, im going to try find a new one.

my vet told me a few weeks ago they have seenalot of dogs and cats in for runny noses and such...she thinks ispartially from the high allergy season we've had here....illinois.

i blame pet stores they just keep bringing moreand more rabbits in and putting them all together there bound to pickup something

Keep her separated from thetheothers.and try to find a vet that that knows a lot aboutrabbits. I'm going through a respirtory infection with an older bunnyand I think that if you treat it in the beginning you may be able toprevent her from getting really sick. i've had alot of bad luck withpet store bunnies (unless they are shelter adoption bunnies). Back yardbreeders sell to pet stores and don't care about health and/orhereditary problems with the buns. Hope you're new little girl getswell. You can maybe find a vet through RO.
