My bun is almost 8 years old, and she has never really been into chewing the pretty chew toys I get her from the store her entire life (I have had her since she was a wee baby bun) but there was always something I could find that she liked to nudge around her cage and chew on. Lately, she seems to like to chew the edges of her litterbox to the point that it is nearly falling apart! I can't tell if she is just chewing it and spitting out the plastic pieces, or if she is ingesting it. I do find a lot of little plastic shavings around her cage, but it doesn't seem to be as much as I would expect for how much of the litterbox is missing. I have been buying the entire stock of bunny toys and treats of every pet store in a 20 mile radius of me and she still loves chewing her litterbox. Should I be concerned?

So does my rabbit! Try rubbing some plain ivory soap on the edges. They don't like it.

Might be worth getting her teeth checked if it's so out of character, maybe she's got some teeth issues as she's getting older and that's resulting in the odd habit.

If you can find someone with an apple tree, fresh apple twigs/branches have always gone down better with my rabbits that old dry ones from pet shops.
