So I hadn’t weighed Hermione since soon after I got her, I got her in March and back then she was about 5.5 lbs. I hadn’t weighed her for a while and now I was just thinking I should weigh her again. When I weighed her today she was 4 lbs. I was surprised because she loves food but she does look a little smaller and she was quite chubby when I got her. I got Hermione from Craigslist and she lived in a hutch with another unspayed female rabbit and they were given unlimited pellets. I’ve always thought she was a mini lop because of how much she weighed when I got her. But now I’m questioning whether she’s a Holland lop instead because they weigh around 4 pounds. It is possible she was overweight when I got her. She didn’t have any hay or veggies when she was in the hutch and the hutch was in a garage so she could’ve been overweight. I’m just very confused because I’ve told everyone she’s a mini lop and not a Holland lop. I’ve also never seen her as a Holland lop. I will leave some pictures of her here even though I doubt that will help identify between mini lop and Holland lop because I heard the only way you can tell them apart is by their weight.

That sure looks like a holland to me... the major differences I tend to notice between the two breeds beyond weight (and I don't think 5.5 lbs is a dramatically heavy holland, although it is bigger) is that Hollies tend to have blunter faces and shorter ears. Your rabbit also appears to have both of these traits. Additionally, she looks a bit overweight in the third picture and slimmer in the first two, which could account for the difference.

I have an uncanny ability to select a bunny that will grow WAY bigger than breed standards, such as my almost 9 lbs lionhead/harlequin/dutch, so I tend to treat standard sizes in pet quality rabbits as having some wiggle room. She also could be a Hollie/Mini lop mix, which could also account for the size discrepency. Since she's a pet, breed really doesn't matter too much, she just exists to be loved and happy.

So you’re all saying she’s probably a Holland lop, i just never saw her as being one. I mean she was stuck up in a small hutch in a garage with only unlimited pellets so she was probably overweight when I got her but now that I limit her pellets and I am even starting to scatter feed she’s getting to her regular weight.
