I was brushing my bun today and when we were done, he jumped down, but I think he landed weirdly or something happened. Right after, I noticed blood on his blanket and on his paw. I was able to look at it and it looks like the nail is broken at the bottom. Do I need to take him to the vet? Should I try to cut the nail or just leave it be? He seems okay, but we all know rabbits are good at hiding their pain. I know this probably isn’t a huge deal, but I’ve never had him bleed before so it really alarmed me.

When you mean the bottom, do you mean the underside or the tip?
I’m not sure if he’s in pain, but flour or styptic powder will help stop the bleeding.

As long as it stopped bleeding, he will be fine. If not you can use what they said above or cornstarch.
