Britannia Petite (US) / Polish (European)
Although it is called "Polish" in Europe, this rabbit breed actually originated in England, where they were first exhibited in 1884. When they first became an accepted breed here, they were renamed "Britannia Petite" since there was already a rabbit breed called "Polish" in the USA. They are a very small rabbit, with an ideal adult weight of no more than 2.5 pounds. They have a "full arch" shape - that is, the back runs in a continuous curve from the neck all the way to the base of the tail.
ARBA Recognized colors for the Britannia Petite are Black, Black Otter (black with white or cream underside), Chestnut Agouti (brown with black ticking, white underside), Ruby-eyed White (REW), and Sable Marten (dark sepia brown back, shading to ligher sepia undersides). The fur lies close to the body. It is fine, short, dense and has a silky texture.
Broken color -white with patches of color.
