I posted this in the wrong section apparently:p

I am looking to add a baby bunny to the family, but am looking for a breeder in the area. I am not really picky about the breed, but would like to see who is out there so that I can look at the options.

Thank you so much!

I think you should be able to get a list of breeders in your area from the ARBA website though I am sure an american breeder will be able to tell you how to go about it :)

I found a flemish giant breeder in my area that I will be getting around the end of the month! YAY!:bunnydance:

What kind of bunny are you looking for? I'm in NE PA and know several other breeders in this area as well. I breed Hollands, Lionheads, Mini Lops, and Fuzzy lops.

I am actually looking for a flemmish giant or an english lop. I had thought that I had found breeders several times and then they stopped responding to me:?:grumpy:
Which is sort of irritating. I lost a holland lop about a year ago and can't stand the thought of getting another...just too painful. Let me know if you know of any my email is [email protected]

Which one is the address of where it will actually be located? Is it the address in the middle? I feel so dumb that I don't know how to read this.:blushan:
Do the breeders that go to these shows usually have rabbits for sale?
I really appreciate all of the help that everyone is giving me!

I just searched Leesport and that would be quite a trek! :ponder:

It is a bit of a trek. Some breeders will bring bunnies and some will not. I will be going, but I don't bring bunnies unless I set up a sale in advance.

I personally wouldn't make a super long trip to a show just to find for sale bunnies. Checking one right up the road would be reasonable, but EL's and FG's aren't typically easy to come by (at least here in PA). So you'll probably want to set something up ahead of time.

I wish I knew of someone for you to contact, but honestly I don't know of anyone who breeds either breed. I've seen a few Flemish at shows, but I'm not even sure if I've seen EL's in person! :(

Did you get the email I sent you about the Flemmie breeder in Schuylkill County? To be honest, that's the only one I can think of semi-close to us. I also don't know any EL breeders in our area. Give me another breed of bunny and I'm sure I will know someone. :)

Sorry Leesport is too far for you, its only about 50 miles for me, Harford is actually further away. I do know an EL breeder thats in the Marshall Creek area, I happen to have one token EL. Their a hoot, very puppy like, much funner than the Flemish, EL's have a lot of personality. I'm no longer doing Flemish, they are great rabbits but a lot of work. EL's can be hard to take care of too, mine lost a bit of her ear edge to frostbite, and she's now in a wood bottomed cage, seems to work well for her. Let's see, there's a youth Flemish breeder from Bucks County, think she does Sandies, then there's an old timer in Macungie, he does Fawns, Light Grays, and Steels I think. Many breeders bring rabbits for sale to a show, but often its best to contact them ahead of time. Because of what breed you want it may take some time, research and a bit of traveling to find one. The Leesport show is a pretty active one because its also a National Harlequin specialty and there will be Dutch, Rex and Mini Rex specialties run as well. Is there another, more easily found breed you might want?

There's going to be an English Lop specialty in Leesport; too bad it's too far for you.

I raise English Lops in Virginia, but I frequent many of the Pennsylvania shows, and I often visit relatives in the Harrisburg and Altoona areas. I won't have any babies available until mid to late August, but if you'd like, I'll message you my website plus the website of an ELop breeder I know in SE Pennsylvania.

Yes, I did get your email, and I am open to any suggestions on breeds. These are the two that had caught my eye back when I had my holland (Captain BunBun). It wasn't that I had health issues with him, the problem was that he was verrry wirey. He would not sit still for an instant. Looking back though, he wasn't neutered and at the time I didn't even know that it was possible, and my vet (who was a rabbit specialist) never recommended it when I told her about him being so hyper all of the time. She thought I gave him too many high sugar fruits and veggies, but do you think a neuter would calm down a holland?:?
I am still learning and don't profess to know everything, so I am completely open here guys, any suggestions?
