Hiya,

I posted before about discharge I noticed in my buns and I haven't managed to resolve it. I took them to the vets shortly after posting about it, and the vet was unable to take a sample while we were there and didn't know what it could be. (I took a sample back to them and they said it was too dried out to test...) The vet said their guts sounded healthy and there were no signs that there was anything wrong with them at all, which she would expect there to be if it was a serious issue.

Ash is still producing the discharge, and I've had him on puppy pads for the past 3 weeks bc I suspected he was urinating outside the litter box, and I've noticed spots of wee on the pads (bright yellow and orange), and a big stain on top of the wooden hut he likes to sleep on.

I've reduced the amount of calcium in their diet, they don't get high-calcium veggies. Ash is 1.4kg and gets 15g of pellets a day that are 40% crude fibre. I've been giving him fibreplex paste as well if I notice any cecotrope staining on his fur. He's on high-quality timothy hay, and drinks out of a water bowl. I don't know what to do really.

Does anyone have any ideas about what this could be? - and what I could do!? There aren't any other vet surgeries I trust and can take him to. I don't think they're the most knowledgeable about rabbits but they clearly care a lot and will do everything they can for the animals they care for.

I'm taking Ash in on the 10th anyway to be neutered, so I'm thinking of asking if I can talk to a vet about it then, I'd just like to have some idea of what I'm talking about!

Is there white calcium sediment or creamy/pasty discharge in his pee spots? Is he showing any signs of being unwell?

No there isn't, he isn't showing any signs of being unwell. A colleague suggested it could be a mild case of coccidiosis which they have been managing okay on their own for a while? I'm considering asking the vets for an x-ray and a worming treatment, but it's really expensive so I don't want to do it if it's not necessary

The thing is, they've both had unsettled guts since I got them 3 months ago, and they're on a good diet so I don't understand why. They both seem happy and active though
