Behaviour while I am cleaning cage?

So, 99% of the time, when I sweep the poops out of my male bunny's cage, he gets excited and starts nosing around at my dustpan (sitting on it, chewing, chinning, sniffing) and brush and acts like we are playing a game and like he is having fun.

I was just wondering why he gets excited about his poops and the dust pan & brush so much. I can't tell if he is turned on by the smells or if he is actually freaking out cause I'm taking his poos or if he really is just being playful?

My female rabbit doesn't do this, she just gets out of my way and relaxes.

There's a foreign thing in his territory!

I'm thinking his thought process is something along the lines of: "AHHH! What is that?! What's it smell like?! Can I eat it?! I chin anything in my territory! OMG it's moving! Wheeee!"

Your doe's probably more along the lines of, "Oh, it's just the human again. *yawn*"

He might even be trying to help you out. He might like cleaning time.

My Mizu acts very similarly in the same situation. He even climbs on my shoulders to have a better view of what i am doing. And as i noticed, he is fascinated by whatever activity that i can display, and, as a free roaming bunny (while of course he has his own games too, without my involvement), he often sits or lies in the place (this is the spot shown on our avatar) from which he can monitor my desktop, screen and what i am writing on the keyboard..

Our bunny Chester is like this! He loves to "help" clean up his cage! LOL

my boy always get in the way while i clean their cage or the floor or whatever. i thought he was curious. and my girl doesn't care at all, she sits aside quietly and watch me cleaning and the boy bothering me

If you use the same broom in the female's cage it will pick up their scent. Your boy is excited by the scent. My male Flemish gets intensely interested in the brush when I sweep his pen, mostly sniffing.

For treats time I lay down in the female's pen and sit up on one elbow. That picks up their scent off the carpet. Then, I go into Peter's pen for treats and quality time. He isn't the last bit interested in his favorite treats. He spends all his time sniffing my elbow and hip, any part of me that touched the carpet in the ladies' quarters. It's a matter of ladies driving the little boys wild. ;-)

Ha! My bunnies do this as well. They just usually are excited because it's something new to play with.
