Hi all,

Our rabbit stayed at a friend’s whilst we were away for ten days. They didn’t brush him which was fine but the room he was in was quite warm and now he’s molting loads. We’ve groomed him and lots of fur is coming out but also there are some bald patches.. is this okay? They seem to be getting larger but there’s no signs of any mites or anything that I can see. (Our friends have a dog but they were never near each other - our rabbit stayed upstairs and the dog liveds downstairs)

Any advice would be great- does he need to go to the vet? Our vet isn’t great with rabbits but the best one around apparently.

Thanks so much everyone

Those bald patches are small compared to my boy when he molts. I have completely stopped brushing and just wet my hands while petting him.

When I was at the vet for a normal healthy check up, the veterinarian was quite surprised with his bald patches. After a week small fur covered the patches again ^^

So wait and see if your bun grow fur back. Myself noticed that neutered bucks molt more than they was not neutered at least my boys. So they easily got bald patches.
