Bad funny looking skin around eyes

You know rabbits have skin around their eyeballs, well on my rabbit, on one eye the skin is a bit over the eye,more than it should be, and even worse on the other eye there is no skin underneath in the corner closest to its face so there is just a gap underneath the eyeball rather than a fleshy bit. I'm so worried any ideas please? And this is the rabbit that had 6 babies so any idea if this type of thing is hereditory?

How long has it been that way? Could she have been injured? Is it red or does it look infected?

I was away yesterday so a day or 2 at the most, it doesn't look sore or infected.

Couple guesses: Could be due to inflammation of the third eyelid or could be a prolapse of the gland.

Might be a good idea to have the vet look at it.

So, you're concerned about both eyes?You're saying that the one that has the gap seems like it's missing flesh? Just want to make sure I have this right.

I had a rabbit w/ what the vet thought at the time was Cherry Eye, but the white part wasn't that white, but pink (the eye on yours that the skin is partially covering the eye) also called a prolapse of the third eyelid as Pam said. I was given by my vet, eye drops for this condition. Forget the name of it now.

Let us know if your concerned about both eyes too. Is the one w/ the skin on the eye white or pick?

Yes i am worried about both eyes one with no skin, one with too much skin awkward rabbit! The one with the skin over is white not pink, i took some pics last night so i will post them in a min.

Well i took my baby to the vets today and she is fine, it was the third eyelid and he said it was perfectly normal, and the other eye is sunken a bit but it is ok, just lost some fat around the back of her eye, nothing serious, thanks again all for the help!
