its day 12. Babies seem healthy. One is super fat lol but their eyes are still shut and momma feeds them like 4 times a day.
Most people say they never see their bunnies feed, i always see her feed. Can she over feed them? Also shouldnt their eyes be open by now?
I did wipe their eyes with a warm cloth to check for crusting and none that I could see

Also they say to take the nest out at 14 days. Mine are inside bunnies how do you control the pee? Mommas pretty well potty trained so shes on a rug.

They start to leave the nest at 12-16 days, when they open their eyes, but it's still their safe place. I don't remove it until they don't use it anymore, at 6-8 weeks. Only problem can be when you have a nestbox style where they can't get back in, you can tilt that on the side or make ramps around it when they open the eyes, would remove those when the nest desintegrates and isn't used anymore. My nestboxes are more like closed hidy houses with one entrance.

Some does don't like to be watched when feeding, at least at the start, nervous bunny parents hovering around waiting for the doe to nurse can mess things up. The does usually get more casual about once it's routine.

Overfeeding as more a problem of hand feeding, when the kits learn the power gulp.

You control the kits pee and poop with suitable bedding, litter training is something that comes with puberty, mostly, but all rabbits are different .

If the eyes aren’t open by day 14 you can assist to open them. Wash cloth dipped in warm water. Gently wipe it across the slit several times and then gently try to separate the eye lids...don’t apply a lot of pressure though. If it doesn’t work use more warm water, wiping them and try again.

Usually overfeeding is only an issue when there is just one baby in the litter. Then sometimes they tend to overfeed and get super fat. As long as they can move themselves around with their legs it shouldn't be an issue. It's when their belly is so fat that they can't use their legs to move around very well, that it can sometimes lead to leg issues as they grow.

Here's the fluff balls! They r soooo stinking cute. And all over the place we made a larger cage so momma has room too.
From what the vet and I can tell teeth and jaws look aligned, but its still too soon to know for sure. But no huge misalignments. Yay
