Here is the rabbit I got after Peneloppy passed away. Her name is Sweet Baboo (it's what my Grandad use to call me). She is in training to be a therapy rabbit.

By the way... there's a 2 week difference between the pictures of her on the carpet vs the one of her on the hay and on the white tile. She's getting HUGE!!

What do therapy rabbits do? Are they for keeping lonely people company? Or comforting therapy patients when they're suffering trauma? If I was in therapy and got handed a bunny for comfort, I'd be way more absorbed in petting it than in working out my personal problems.

She so far has visited nursing homes. I'm considering possibly taking her to the Centers for Women and Families and let them use her to help children who have been abused open up during therapy. I'd likely have to train someone else how to handle her as I don't think they'd want me in there with her during that since it's confidential.

So sorry for your loss of peneloppy. I hope sweet Baboo and you form a tight friendship 😊

I didn't know you could train them for therapy! That's way cool. I bet it's harder than with dogs or cats coz buns are more fragile. How do you train them?

You may train a bunny to do tricks, but a bunny teaches you patience and the fragile beauty of silence.

Basically you train yourself to watch their body language for signs that they're ready to leave or not enjoying it. You never let them have direct contact with a person as far as you always wrap them in a blanket or have them in a stroller.

:) Sounds great. My bun's helped me get through some pretty tough times! I'm sure your bunnies are doing the same! They're very comforting in their quiet way.
