while Petco's overall sale is currently crappy (15% off, will probably go back to either 20% off or "up to 40% off" in the next few days - it's been rotating through those three sales for a couple months now), certain products are 20-50% off!

the alfalfa mini-bales HALF off right now - only $3 per bag! I'm stocking up enough to last my babies until they're 7 mos old, lol... pet store normal price is $6 and I think walmart is at least $5, so $3 is a darn sweet deal!

if you're looking to bulk up your order to get to $49 for free shipping, some other stuff that's still got higher discounts:
crinkle cat tunnel, which is 20% off (my bunnies' favorite toy, they like it even better than the plastic ware tunnel) - http://www.petco.com/product/118000/Petco-Blue-And-White-Crinkle-Tunnel-for-Cats.aspx

the hammock my bunnies love is up to 20% off - http://www.petco.com/product/103974...rrets.aspx?CoreCat=MM_Ferret_SleepersHideouts

kaytee granule bedding that some of us use as litter (up to 36% off... the 27.5L bag is only $11.99) - http://www.petco.com/product/100574/Kaytee-Soft-Granule-Pet-Bedding.aspx

carefresh natural is up to 35% off - http://www.petco.com/product/3370/Carefresh-Natural-Pet-Bedding.aspx?CoreCat=firstinresult_carefresh

great playpen (especially if you're looking for something taller than 29'', which is the highest I could find in the small pets category), up to 44% off - http://www.petco.com/product/5874/Precision-Pet-Eight-Panel-Wire-Pens.aspx
I got two of the 48'' ones to make my living room into a bunny paradise... figured they were only $6 more than the 36'' so I may as well get the tallest - now I can give them cardboard boxes (even attached together to be 2 boxes high) and stuff like that without worrying about them nudging it over to the side of the pen, climbing on top and escaping :D

Sounds like somebunnies are getting spoiled!

If you're looking for cheaper hay though, you should really check out a feed store (I'm sure there are some around San Antonio because the summer I spent there I rode horses).

yeah, I plan to start looking into feed stores once they're switched over to grass hay, but I'm lazy and this is a pretty good deal for alfalfa (plus I haven't gotten around to figuring out a system for keeping a larger bale of hay stored)

For keeping a larger bale of hay, you can get a metal trash can to put it in. Or you could get a big rubbermaid plastic tote and keep it in there.

That is a good deal on stuff though!

My feedstore will sell me a big trashbag with a few flakes of hay in it for about $5. I can easily store a trashbag of hay in the garage and it lasts me for a few months.

I plan on going to the actual store this weekend and stocking up. If the sale applies to in store items I am going to get at least 3-4 of the big bags of the kaytee soft granule blend.

the sale is online only >< regular price in-store. if you're planning to spend at least $49, though, the shipping is free for online orders...

They will price match the online price for you. You have to show them the add though. (I pulled it up on my phone). I got 8 of the big bags of the Kaytee Soft Granule Blend on Friday. This should last me until I move to Huntsville in late May early June.

I don't have a smart phone 'cause they were stupidly expensive when I got my current phone and I'm not going to replace it until it stops working (I've had it for like 6+ years or something, lol). I don't mind ordering enough stuff to get free shipping from the online sale, though - it arrives pretty quickly and saves me the drive to the store :p

I am getting alfalfa at the feed stores. I got really bad alfalfa in one store, and excellent, very well smelling at another.
