The shy profile pic of our demure Satin Angora/English Angora so delicately nibbling on cilantro leaves me with a query I hope someone here knows ways to help resolve.

Being a mix of angoras seems to make his coat perpetually clumped. We do shave him in the summer months (which are 9/12 in a Florida year) and he's finally accepted "OK....I don't like this but I'll be happier after." with a shorter period of "Why did you torture/humiliate me?!?!" following.

Here's the issue: Regardless of how we give in to his demands......Oh.. I mean acknowledge his concerns and try to address them...he won't let us cut a clump from his fur. He'll let me remove hard eye goobers and even tolerate being cradled (I suspect he likes this more than he'll admit.) but cut a clump? Well just call the ASPCA.

(Not talking sensitive areas here either.....Rabbit God forgive me should I get near those!)

Any helpful suggestions appreciated. Lagsmorph love y'all!

All I can think is trying to prevent any fur from clumping from the start. So regular brushing. Then keeping the fur from getting too long and start to get matted, with more frequent coat trims. Or possibly doing what angora show people do and use a pet blower for regular grooming, to keep the coat blown out and prevent it from getting tangled and matted.

If you do go the route of trying the blower, just make sure to research it properly so everything is done correctly and safely.
