Hello!
I need some opinions.... and I know you guys love to share them :)

Right now my rabbits have their NIC cages upstairs in the spare room, where they also get their "free" time. I want to start allowing them to have their free time in the living room, where the space is larger for them to run in (separately until their bonded). How would I go about doing this?

I am worried about getting them back upstairs into their cages at the end of the "free" time. Chive is not very friendly at all, and Dax is still new to me and is quite nervous at times! Any help is much appreciated :panic: As I am at a loss as to how to start this...

Use a towel to put them in a bunny burrito. Just put the towel over them and pick them up supporting their back legs and chest. The towel helps them feel secure and rabbits calm down when the can't see at least most do.

The towel is a great idea.
Start litter box training them if they aren't already and bunny proofing the livingroom.
Usually rabbits will run around for a while, then tire out and find a place to chill. I usually put them back when they're at this point because they aren't making use of the free time anymore and don't object as much or at all to being put back. I also don't provide treats or pellet while they are out so that they have something to look forward to in the cage.

If they're used to going in and out of a carrier you could use that as well. Bandit is funny because he hops into his carrier almost straight away anytime I put it down.

Thanks for all the suggestions :goodjob

I will definitely try the towel, as Chive is not a fan of me, or being held! Dax MIGHT be okay with being picked up once he relaxes.

I currently ONLY give them treats when they go back in their cages in their room. So hopefully the same thing will work for the living room :)

They are both litter box trained! Though I am waiting for Chive to get fixed before she is allowed in the living room, as I heard their litter habits can improve after being fixed. Though hers are fairly good now! Dax took 1 day to adjust to the litter box, hes 100% litter trained now.

Thanks for the advice! Will let everyone know how it goes once I bunny proof the living room.
