Hi all,
I adopted a male 1 year old, (supposedly) neutered holland lop rabbit this past Sunday. We were searching for a companion for our neutered 1 year old male bunny.

The new bunny appears to have one testicle down there, even though he was supposedly neutered 2-3 months ago.

Does anyone have a guess on what this means? Was he neutered and for some reason the vet left one testicle? Or was he never neutered and maybe one testicle has yet to descend? I’m so confused! He’s acts like a neutered bunny, meaning that he’s very docile and is litter trained.

Any thoughts?

If he were my bunny I would just take him to the vet for a wellness checkup, which is probably not a bad idea for a new bunny anyway, and see what the vet says.

Always a good idea to get a new companion registered with your DVM clinic.

What info did the organization provide? A shelter or rescue? Did you receive details on date neutered, what clinic or savvy DVM performed the surgery? Have you talked to that clinic?

Q: Supposedly neutered? Did an individual say that? "supposedly" neutered?

I will follow for other bun parents to comment on cryptorchid males.

Over fifteen years ago we encountered a cryptorchid male, pulled as a rescue intake from a shelter that didn't have space for the mom rabbit and four babies.
