This is a growth on the leg or thigh of a15-year old boy bunny. As anybody had experience withthis? Is it painful? Given the bunny's age, is it treatable? What happens if it's not treated?

Yeah you should definetly go to thevets! It looks exactly the same as my guinea pigd abcsess onhis bottom, but much bigger.

The vet just squeezed all the puss out and cut the hair off around itso I could get to it and clean it easily with some ointment.

If it isnt bothering him then it should be fine and not needed to be removed.

I hope he is fine :pink iris:

Edit? Have yoou already shaved around it? Or is that the whole size of the abcsess

Is it hard? When my rabbit was sick,he got a very, very hard lump on his skin. The vet didn'tknow what it was, and said we should concentrate on his other symptomsfirst. I don't know whether they had much experience withrabbits, but it seemed to be okay. After a shot ofantibiotics anda few other drugs, the growth just went awayon its own...

In any case, get the bunny to a vet!
