Good day all.

Quick question

We have 2 female sisters that have given birth to litters 6 days apart, the father is a non related buck and we were just wondering if the 6 day olds from 1 doe (she isn't looking after them very well, did not build a nest or pull and rarely feeds them) could go in with the much warmer and better looked after newborns (this mother built a nest and pulled and is much more protective)

Many thanks!

Hm, fostering kits is not much of a problem with rabbits, but 6 days is quite a huge gap at that age, I would worry that they raid the milk buffet, leaving the young ones hungry - a very bad start. Also, the newborns need the colostrum from the first feedings.

How many kits are there in each litter? Does the older litter really look that bad? What do you mean with "rarely"?

Can you post a picture of each nestbox and pick up a 6-day old baby and show us the stomach.
