A day after anesthesia, quite gassy, is this normal?

They said that after being under anesthesia the system can be thrown off a bit. I just have to monitor her closely and keep enticing her to eat. She's still pooping, so that's a plus. They said to feed her any rabbit stuff I have just to keep her gut moving and to keep up with the meds. She does...

A day after anesthesia, quite gassy, is this normal?

I'm calling the vet first thing in the morning, something is definitely off. She's just not herself. After 3 doses of Simethicone she's not much different.

A day after anesthesia, quite gassy, is this normal?

Giving her the meds was better this time around. I showed her the syringe and she started lapping it up, unlike before. She looks like she's starting to feel better and she's eating more. She loves parsley but she just wasn't into it today. Thank you for your help and support.

A day after anesthesia, quite gassy, is this normal?

No idea. I know that she didn't have her for long and didn't know much about them. I tried the pumpkin again but to no avail, she just goes to the back of her cage. The Simethicone was a little tricky because she's a wily one. She stopped drinking her water with apple juice, but I'm still...

A day after anesthesia, quite gassy, is this normal?

I think the water with apple juice did it. She drank quite a bit of it, lied on a warm fleece robe I put out for her, drank some more and started binking. She ate some hay and started playing with her stuffed bun like she does. I'm still going to monitor her and pick up some meds tomorrow...

A day after anesthesia, quite gassy, is this normal?

My bun Dust went to the vet yesterday to get spayed, but when they put her under and shaved her, they found out she had already been spayed. The vet did not open her up, only took x-rays to double check. The gal I got her from when she was 8 months said she wasn't so that's why I did it. She...

Not acting the same as yesterday, very drastic changes

Well, Dust wasn't very pleased about seeing the vet, she grunted more than ever before. But the good news is she has a clean bill of health. She's the perfect weight and aside from a little gas that she experienced, she's going to be alright. They clipped her nails for me as well. They told me...

She's my baby, I treat her as if she were my child. I despise feeling helpless like that. I'm very thankful to all of you. :biggrin2:

Not acting the same as yesterday, very drastic changes

There are no emergency vets near me, though I did manage to give her some simethicone, and after a few belly massages on the couch she appears to be better. She's moving more, more alert and I caught her eating pellets and hay. She's drinking more, she peed and pooped, everything seems normal. I...

Not acting the same as yesterday, very drastic changes

I've tried to make an appointment with several places, but they're all only available for Saturday, but with the way she's going, I was told, if I wait, she may not make it until Saturday. I don't know what to do. :(

There isn't much I can do, my dad works and there's no way I can get ahold of him until he gets home =\ I don't want to wait that long, but my options are slim.

Yes, that's her. Thank you. I haven't made an appointment yet, I have to talk to my dad since he will be my ride, but I'm hoping either tomorrow or Friday.

Not acting the same as yesterday, very drastic changes

I opened her cage at 8 am, she finally took a drink and came out around noon time just to go in a corner to lie down, she has only moved to switch positions. She seemed to be walking fine. She still hasn't eaten and won't touch an apple, parsley or lettuce. I've found a vet nearby that...

Not acting the same as yesterday, very drastic changes

I massaged her belly for as long as she let me, she seemed to be content with it, then just hopped off to go lay down again. I did notice she was molted more than yesterday so she may have some blockage. Her back legs seemed thinner, but that could be from the fur loss. Thank you for your help...

Not acting the same as yesterday, very drastic changes

I don't have any gas meds and all the stores around are closed, but I'll try the tummy massages, if she'll let me, she's an angsty one

She's not drinking a lot, just when she heads back in her cage and sees that it's there then she'll take a few laps. No sign of dribbling or wet butt, I felt all around her body to see if I could feel anything but I found nothing.

Not acting the same as yesterday, very drastic changes

My 3 y.o Brittania Petite was acting completely normal yesterday, going nuts for a cookie, eating, drinking, running, jumping, getting into trouble. Today, she hardly left her cage when she usually can't wait to get out, I leave her cage open so she can roam all day and only close it when I...
