I have never seen my rabbits cecal pellets

I agree, that is a good thing. The only time I have seen them from my rabbits is when Cinderella got very sick and was having seizures, she couldn't do her normal cleaning. Yes, if you think they are cleaning their belly but they sit up chewing, that is what they just did. LOL it is so gross...

What do you do when you cant sell?

The problem is that for every good pet home there are so many already in the system. I arranged to transport 10 rabbits from FL earlier this year because the shelter was so full they had 3 days before they were executed. I'm not saying your particular rabbits would end up that way, but if you...

I Wanna See Your Xmas Trees! or Holiday Decs of Any Kind!

The kids went to see Santa today, they did so well. Sophie didn't bite or kick Santa :)

    Cat people

I have an 11 year old cat that had this issue recently. I also noticed she would rock a bit before jumping onto things. I started her on a joint supplement and her litter habbits went back to perfect! I'm guessing she was having pain in her lower back/hips and it must have been easier on the...

    Does Anyone Else....

I can't let myself look at buns anymore, particularly after being a foster failure. 6 is absolutely my bunny limit! I do keep an eye on petfinder for single finches though because they are so sad and one more in the flock won't hurt anything.

    Holiday Card Swap 2012

Nope, the boys hate each other, so I go boy/girl. Lots of treats!

    SPCA education program!

I'm also finishing up my little book, I want to get it under 50 pages so the SPCA can print it off. If anyone would like to add their bunny pictures please email them to [email protected] I will ofcourse give photo credit. If you include the thing you think is most important for new owners I...

    SPCA education program!

Thank you for the feedback! I do like making a single intro class that is a couple hours to hopefully get people started right. Christina, do you have any idea what they charge? Jennifer, what all do you have in your first aid kit? When I was a new owner I would have loved to be able to buy...

    Scents...?

Unfortunately smell is one of the things you are basically stuck with when you have unaltered rabbits. When I got Sophie it took two weeks for her to get in for her spay. OMG! :scared: I would walk into the house and it would smell like a barn even a floor below her, and the smell would just...

    SPCA education program!

Oh I like that idea. We could run the classes before the spa even since nails need trimmed on a regular basis. I hope people are interested. I think by offering the class monthly people who are new might come. I'm also going to try to network with other rabbit rescues in the area and the local...

    SPCA education program!

The staff has changed at my local SPCA and we are finally starting a community education effort around rabbits! I am thinking of giving a monthy presentation that people can come and bring any questions. I also have a book that I have been working on that covers basics that we could sell...

    Presenting...The Muppet King!

Keep your eyes open, Houdini is a rescue. His mom was taken from a hoarder in Canada and he was born at the rescue who took in two pregnant does. Every year at the rescue holiday party I get to see his former foster mom, siblings, and cousins. :thumbup I have to confess to thinking he's the...

    Presenting...The Muppet King!

I love the tufties too. When he comes hopping out to the livingroom just to see what we are doing he has his head and ears up and he makes me think of an old man in fuzzy trousers :P Is it any wonder his middle name is Muppet? He did earn his name though, he has a naughty streak a mile wide...

    Bargain hutch!

I have a three level cage that I bought when I first brought home Becky. I was so silly thinking I was going to keep her in a cage. It took 24 hours for me to realise she was miserable and I had wasted over $100. I didn't know NIC could be used at the time or that free range was an option. Now...

    which evil is lesser?

Unfortunately buns love bitter apple, they just say thanks for the salad dressing. :P

    which evil is lesser?

Have you tried timothy? or apple twigs? It sounds like they need something more to chew on and they are not liking their hay very much. I would give them alfalfa before letting them eat chloroplast or the edible logs.

LOL Here's my Houdini- he's very fluffy compared to your Houdini, but nothing compared to the angora in the picture! :pet:

    Help, one indoor, one outdoor!

Mine are inside because we have too much wildlife that would hurt them (fox, raccoons, neighbor dogs that kill cats etc). I worry about fleas and other icky things they might pick up and poisonous plants (we have lots of ivy in our yard). I take them to the park in a stroller so they get fresh...
