    Stray rabbit may be pregnant

If you have had her for 3 weeks, she could be dueanytime in the next 7 days... if you think she is pregnant, be prepared.Give her a nestbox (ASAP) to kindle in (it's safer for the babies, and would make her feel more secure.) Even a shoebox would work. Just make sure it has sides at least 3"...

    Continental Giant Rabbit Breeding

You wouldn't see the fatty deposits around the Uterine horns... it's generally a diet/age related issue. But time will tell!

    Continental Giant Rabbit Breeding

The pelvic bones really don't totally "fuse"... they just become less pliable. If she has already had a litter, it's definitely worth a try. The only question would be if she has built up any fatty deposits around the Uterine Horns, that would prevent conception. Let us know when you get her...

    Flemish not big enough!!

Look to buy (or breed to) some of those larger Flemish. Sizeis in the genetics and certain lines tend to get larger than others. Talk to some of the breeders that have those larger rabbits. Discuss increasing the size in your lines. If you do buy a rabbit to breed into your lines, look...

    Continental Giant Rabbit Breeding

I have a doe that kindled her first litter this past May at 18 months of age. (And it wasn't for lack of trying!) I would definitely give her a chance, as long as she isn't overweight, is in good condition and is overall healthy. Of course, my suggestion would be to breed her right away...

new here, and looking for help...

Most of my Flemish does stop breeding between 3 1/2 and 4 years of age. But I've had a few girls that were willing to raise litters until they were 5.

HELP!! 4 day old bun doesn't seem to be eating/getting fed!!!!

I'm sorry he didn't make it. I suspect there was a genetic or other abnormality that prevented his development. I'm glad to hear the others are doing so well... (You could share some photo's of them if you have time! We love baby pictures!)

    watermellon rinds?

Still very hot and humid here. Almost through my stash of frozen watermelon rinds! LOL! Hoping for cooler weather this weekend! A little rain would go a long way! It was 105 degrees on Tuesday, 100 on Wednesday and "only" 92 yesterday... 90 so far today...but the humidity is creeping back...

    watermellon rinds?

I freeze watermelon rinds and hand them out on hot days. I've never had a problem with them eating the rinds. Some of them love to eat them, some won't. But they all lick them when they are hot. My kids and all their friends know not to toss out the rinds! Bag 'em and freeze 'em!

    Genetics 101, and ranting thereabout

He contacted me too Turtle. Several times.... As soon as he asked for "Pure Whites", I knew he was looking for whites to breed for meat... Told him, "Sorry, don't have ANYTHING that would be good for you." (I have whites that are bred white to white for 4 generations... but I wouldn't sell to...

How many babies can one rabbit mom handle?

Most rabbits have around 8 nipples, soit is OK for them to raise 8, assuming the mom is in good condition and healthy. I've had litters of up to 11 raised by one mother... (one very GOOD mother).

HELP!! 4 day old bun doesn't seem to be eating/getting fed!!!!

How is the baby today? Please tell us the breed of the parents. Certain breeds have genetic issues that are apparent at birth and affect the babies survivability. As was suggested, hold the baby to the mother's teat and see if it will suckle. If it doesn't or can't there is not much you...

Will fur grow back on sore hocks?

With good care and time, the fur should come back over the bunny's hocks. Itreally needsto comeback to protect the hocks from future damage. It's good that they are haealing, but you will need to keep giving them some attention until they are covered in fur again.
