im so sorry about Mayhem..
ur gonna want to neuter him ...especially when he starts courting you....eek..its hard enough to deal with a little male bunny circling ur feet but a BIG MALE bunny will scare the poop outta ya...i had my giant chase me outta the kitchen he was corraled in..he was honkin and nudging and circling and i was OUT OF THERE....he wasnt being mean just overwhelming ..i know that males have been neutered as early as 4 months but 6 months is def safest,,,,just watch how he is at about 4 months and if u see his balls drop and hes gettting pushy hes ready..,,and fair warning when he does spray....there will be ALOT of it....my female before she was fixed had a habit of peeing in her box but jumping out before she was done ..so the whole jump had a stream of pee and her back feet would kick the stream up ...and all over me if i was within 4 ft area of her ..my legs...my arms..my face...these bunnies can fling some pee...not funny not funny....then if any of my other buns just happen to get a wiff of an area that i didnt exfoliate the pee off of my skin...they got a little aggressive with me...even tho i showered after the pee incident....they still smelled it..crazy ...
trust me ur gonna want to neuter a giant...besides his gonads would be humongous.....not something i wanna see when my HOUSE bunny is hopping on my furniture....
ur avatar pic is Boris??....super freakin cute..but i cant see it real good..its itty bitty..give us more more more..please

wowowowowowow! Mr. boris has already made my home his own! he was soo clam and sweet, he even was cleaning himself on the car ride home! he knows where his "house" is too, he keeps running out of his cage around the house and doing binkies back to his litter box! i love this little man! i have a few pics and will post them asap!
p.s. THE BREEDER WAS AMAZING TOO, SHE TOLD US ALL ABOUT THE BREED AND HOW TO KEEP HIM HAPPY, I EVEN GOT TO PET AND HOLD HIS MAMA AND PAPA!
thanks for all the help full hints! i cant wait to see how our new little man will run our home!

Congrats!!

They are definitely not shy rabbits. ;) Mikey is like a little puppy dog.

His favourite 'toy' is the couch. I have linoleum floors so he does his 'bunny 500' racing and his binkies on the couch!

He's a handful, he keeps jumping on the kitchen table and raiding the fruit bowl or anything else that's on there.

But he's worth every bit of trouble!

Oh Boy!! I just got mine about a month ago now: Thor is about twelve weeks old and about ten eleven pounds. I also have to dwarf rabbits and they all have diffenrent personalities; what one loves the other hates. I have to agree with the stuffing of paper bags with hay and other treats. I fill mine with hay, a few baby carrots and a random other piece or two of veggie I might have and toss it into Thor's pen every morning; it's gone by bedtime.

I'm still learning too so i will just warn you about things based on experience. Plan on being pretty scratched up in the arm and chest area until you take him to get his nails trimmed. I got a pedipaw and we trim Thor every three weeks (we've done it twice), and still I've got some gashes. It's hard remembering how very young they are at their size. Don't underestimate his strength. Even thbough your instinct is to be gentle with it, you must be "strong" when handling your bun. We read that if they do something you don't like, like when he would bite at me (which he did ALOT the first week) you hold theirhead down for 5 seconds. It's bunnese for knock that **** off. He;s not biting any more!

Hope this has been helpful!

wow! 11 lbs at 12 weeks!!! i cant wait till Boris is that big! well so far i have gotten a few little cuts on my arms but i worked at a horse trainer for over 7 years and now as a full time dog groomer so i can handle his kicks very well! he fights it but in the end hes tired and im kissing him! i was also able to get my little Flemish from THE BEST breeder ever, so he was handled a lot wile he was a baby. no bites yet and no chews to the table legs. ( but i got bitter spray for bun buns and he hates it) i would love to see some pics of your baby!
Thank for sharing! Rose

It does look like he has a collar one. So if it is I'd recommend you not use it as they are very dangerous to Rabbits, even if the collar is only on him when he's inside he can get it caught on things and it can chock him to break his neck.

Do you know the name of the breeder that you got him from?

yes in this pic he had a little cat collar on but i have taken it off and got him a puppy harness instead.i read about them being vary fragile so he just plays with it now and carries it to me. he is already growing and we have only had him a week. he is sooo smart and cute. thanks for your all your concern about my lovely little man!

I got my Boris from a breeder in St.James ny called sunny oaks rabbits. she is a mod on this site, her user name is bluegiants i think. she is so amazing and breeds the best looking bunnies iv seen, flemish in blue black and white, silver fox and mini rex too. i got a tour of her place when i picked up my boy from her!
