What Rabbit Rescue are you Personally Involved In?

My rescue, Hope for Hares Rabbit Rescue: http://www.tiptopwebsite.com/hopeforhares06 ETA: I would love to have some foster homes here in Illinois, if anyone has any space open.

    Surgery complications!!

I got Cocoa neutered yesterday morning. This morning, I took his sisters in to be done. After I came back from dropping them off, I thought I better check on his sutures again to make sure he hadn't pulled them out or anything. And he has a huge purple-black swelling on one side, and his little...

    Mini rex doe wont breed

If she hasn't had a litter before, then 2 is too old to be trying to breed her. If she did manage to get pregnant, you would have very high odds of pencil kits or even of stuck kits.

    can someone help me??

Best thing to do is be prepared, just in case. Call the petstore and ask if they have any idea when she might have been bred. A rabbit's gestation period is about 31 days, so at about day 28 as near as you can figure, put a nestbox full of straw or hay in with her for her to make a nest and give...

    Rescued!

It is cute to see when they get along so well with dogs and cats, LOL. One thing to be aware of though, is that obviously dogs and rabbits have very different ways of playing, so keep an eye on them because the dogs might hurt her unintentionally when playing.

You have GOT to be kidding me!

Hey, I'm not even 30 yet and I am already covering my grey hairs! My aunt went grey right out of high school, sot hat must be where I get it. I have some knee problems too, mainly from a bad car accident I was in a few years back.

Oooh don't know if I'm going back to sleep tonight!

Earthquakes make me nervous, I have only been through two in my life. The second one was just last year, it woke us up at 4am. My husband and I both thought at first that it was the washer on spin cycle cause that shakes our bed too, but then I realized that the doors on my glass fronted...

    Ears?

I wouldn't worry, like JadeIcing said he probably just has some lop in his background. Baby lops (I think!) don't droop right at first either, it takes them a few weeks.

    Rescued!

Well, first off, welcome to RO and congrats on your new bunny friend! Rabbits here in the US don't need any shots.A checkup would be a good idea just to make sure everything is ok with this bunny, since your neighbors were obviously not caring for it properly. A vet will also be able to help you...

Holy Cow! 70%?! Good thing you found that out before you took him in!

So who has experience raising pet pigs?

I hope I can keep him once he gets full sized, LOL. I plan to get some hog panels and set him up with a pen and a shelter under the trees behind the barn. If he gets to where I can't handle him or don't have room, well, I will try my best to find him a pet home.

Can anyone recommend a good vacuum cleaner?

I have a Dyson for my house, and I love it. The only problem I have with it is that it tends to push around bunny pebbles rather than pick them up. It does great picking up hay and stuff like that though, and itdoes really fabulous picking up all the dog, cat and bunny fur in the carpets. My...

So who has experience raising pet pigs?

Saudade wrote: Yeah, but most people who have never been around rabbits and don't know what great pets they are would say the same about all the lengths we go to to keep our bunnies happy. And I will admit, a pig is not something I had ever thought I would have for a pet either honestly...
