    Weight Loss

This is quite a mystery, isn't it? I'm so sorry you're having to go through this. Having a tight budget and vet bills is very stressful, I know. I'm also very sorry the vet you took her to was only interested in selling you products and raising the bill. Unfortunately, I've had similar...

2 adorable bunnies need a forever home! (San Francisco Bay Area)

Thank you for doing the right thing and not just dropping them off at a kill shelter. Big kudos to you! Nancy makes a great suggestion. If the Richmond HRS cannot help you let me know as I have some rabbit rescue contacts in Northern California. I can ask around and see if anyone can take them...

Bunny is very sweet but sometimes growls and tries to bite

I would caution suggesting pinning as a behavior modification technique. It is highly debated even among dog trainers and their guardians. There is potential risk to the rabbit (panicking and kicking out could injure their back) and to the human as well (getting bit trying to pin the rabbit). I...

Should I separate them? Very depressed bond mate

Update: Dunkin is perfectly healthy! :weee: No heart problems found during the echocardiogram. His lethargy and stressed out behavior is purely emotional then. That is pretty sad when you think about it. He was that bonded to Amber. Next time someone claims animals don't grieve I reserve...

Should I separate them? Very depressed bond mate

Dunkin did go on some bunny dates at the rescue! Thanks for asking :) There is this one female who is about 3 years old named Autumn. She's the same size as Dunkin and brown like Amber was. Super friendly and calm. They like each other a lot. It's pretty adorable how they flirt all the time...

it started with a simple store bought hutch

It looks great, well done! I wish I had something like that to house my bunnies. Lucky buns! :highfive:

    Is she a netherland dwarf?

I agree with majorv, she doesn't look like a Netherland Dwarf to me either. The ears are far too long and she doesn't have the compact body/face. Sorry! She might still be a dwarf mix of some kind though. Just not Netherland.

Rabbit can't move at all! Paralyzed!

These little baby bunnies are delicate and can go downhill so fast for a variety of reasons. It's great how diligent you're being! :bunny24

metoclopramide concern - need some insight

Hi, sorry no one responded to this! Were you able to sort things out with Aki?

Should I separate them? Very depressed bond mate

So, I just wanted to come back to this thread and thank the three of you for responding. I really appreciate it. Please know that you do not owe me any explanation at all for being busy with life or why you didn't respond. I don't hold it against anyone. I was just surprised because I remembered...

Rabbit losing weight but appetite string

I'm sorry Hank is not well :( That kind of weight loss while still having a strong appetite is a red flag. Personally, I would ask for blood work to be done. That is really the only way to tell if something else is going on internally that is contributing to the weight loss. I've never dealt...

Should I separate them? Very depressed bond mate

I've been a member of this forum since 2007 and not one response? That's pretty sad. What happened to this place? Amber had to be euthanized. It was a very aggressive cancer, we think lymphoma. One of the saddest days of my life. Dunkin was able to spend some time with her body and say goodbye...

Should I separate them? Very depressed bond mate

This past week has been hell for me. Here is the summarized story: My sweet Amber (who is 7 years old now) has become disabled. She has full paralysis of her hind legs and urinary incontinence. We aren't sure what caused it. It started on April 4th with just dragging her hind legs a bit. I...

    Reaction to vaccination

Oh no, I'm sorry! Poor guy :( So I'm not any kind of expert on these things but I will give my two cents. It does look like what you would see with a vaccine reaction and I don't think it's coincidence that it's right where the injection was. To me the second photo actually doesn't look...

    Mouse nest - need advice!

It's great that you're using live traps and wanting to relocate them :) The babies will likely be weaned at 4 weeks of age. Not very old at all, so if they look like mini-adults and are exploring often they are probably good to go. It would be great if you saw them eating solid food just to...

Male bunny suddenly become aggressive - please help :(

The scent of other rabbits could very well be the cause. I have a spayed/neutered bonded pair who have been together for many years. Sometimes I take in rescues and have experienced the same reaction with them. My male (Dunkin) appears to get territorial at the smell and sight of other rabbits...

    Wild baby rabbits, need help!

Rehabbers specialize in raising wild animals... So I really don't think your odds at success would be any better. Wild bunnies are very fragile and notoriously difficult to raise. They will have the best chance with someone experienced. Not to mention at a Wildlife Rehab Center there is a better...

Rescued male bun seeking home, Northern California

Cosmo is on his way! Here is the pic of him all ready for his road trip. He has a little litter box in the back with some hay and pellets to snack on. I also attached a toy to the side of the carrier. He has a brown paper bag of supplies. Included in it is his Neuter certificate, favorite...
