    Acquiring a Rabbit to Show

There are two restrictions on showing rabbits. One is that the rabbit has to fit the standard for its breed. The second is that the rabbit has to be tattooed in the left ear to be shown. You can usually get someone at a show to tattoo it for a small fee. Sharon

I did very well at the show. My little blue dutch doe won Best of Breed both shows. The jerseys didn't do too shabby either. Had a great time even though it was raining in the morning. Sharon

Babies opened their eyes and are hoping out of the nestbox

Hayley411 wrote: Dutch are very nosy babies. They are the ones that give me the most trouble :) I had a 6 day old one that kept finding a way out of the cage. I fixed him good though, I had to put the nestbox in the center of the cage that had babysaver wire around it! All he could do is...

To show or not to show?

    Baby Behavior

Them flopping about is normal at that age. They are probably hungry. Is the nestbox too low? Are they able to move out of the nest? Sounds to me like they squirmed right out of the nest. As far as her not herding them back it, they won't. They will not grab the babies and carry them. Sharon

    Registering and Typing Show bunnies

You're welcome :) You do not need to have your rabbitry registered to get your rabbits registered. You, personally, need to be an ARBA member. Getting your rabbitry registered is just a bonus :) I have mine registered. Sharon

    Baby bunnies 3weeks old?

Don't give them the vegetables unless the breeder has given them veggies before. Unlimited amounts of hay and pellets are what you should feed. Quaker Oatmeal is good too in little amounts. Sharon

    Registering and Typing Show bunnies

I think I mentioned this to you before but here are the rules for getting a rabbit registered: 1. You must be an ARBA member and show the registrar your card. 2. The animal must be 6 months old or older. 3. The animal must be free from any DQ's....faults are o.k. 4. Animal must have a...

    baby bunny won't eat pellets?

Have you tried the oatmeal? I would lay off the vegetables as the baby is too young for vegetables unless he grew up with them. Let him eat all the hay he wants....just buy a better quality hay...like alfalfa. Rabbits do not need pellets to survive. Pellets are a supplement. Keep an eye on...
