    Overdue Netherland Dwarf Doe

Yes, definitely. I checked her last night, and the swelling has gone down a bit and she hasn’t bled anymore that’s what’s already there.

    Overdue Netherland Dwarf Doe

This probably needs to be another thread, but the doe that kindled two dead kits, I checked on her and noticed that she was noticeably slimmer than before, and now I think about it, her appetite has been down as well. I flipped her over to check her vulva (I’m now paranoid about my pregnant buns...

    Overdue Netherland Dwarf Doe

Agreed. I tried to rebreed Raven, again she freaked, so I took her out. I'm going to let her settle down and try in a couple days. With my other bun, she kindled this morning, between 3 and 5:50, one looks like it was DOA and the other could've been DOA. They were both dead, she only had two...

    Overdue Netherland Dwarf Doe

I just checked on Raven this morning. She had pulled fur and rearranged the nest she destroyed. I checked, but no babies. She did the grunting when I reached towards her to pick her up, so I just left her alone. On another note, my other bun pulled some fur and made a nest, but she's not due...

    Overdue Netherland Dwarf Doe

Of course! I checked on her this morning, she had destroyed the nest she made last night (I checked on her before I went to bed), she had made a nice little nest with just hay, no fur. I palpated her again, no babies. When I put her with the buck though, she was panicking and running around...

    Overdue Netherland Dwarf Doe

Update: She’s started gathering nesting materials, not pulling fur yet. She’s 5 days overdue, is it possible she’s still holding the babies? Or a fake pregnancy?

I need advice on my next dwarf bunny, are Single Mane Lionheads extinct?!!

I agree, I love the singles. Hm, I'm not sure what else to do as for finding single maned. You could also ask the breeders if they know any other breeders who might have some singles? Rabbit rescues probably have some single maned, but it sounds like you are looking for a reputable breeder that...

    Bunny conditions stress

I wouldn't stress to much about this, I'm in Florida and all my buns are outside (except expecting does and nursing moms) 24/7. It doesn't get too cold down here, and my buns love the cooler weather! It does get up to 90 Fahrenheit in the summer, and although they are hot, they tolerate it well...

Taking a bun home from the breeder

Yay! I'm so happy for you guys! A towel is a great idea, just in case he has any accidents or really needs to go, and it makes it more comfortable for him. A small handful of Timothy hay wouldn't hurt either, it'd give him something to munch on and calm his nerves a bit. If it were a longer...

I need advice on my next dwarf bunny, are Single Mane Lionheads extinct?!!

Hello! I'm so sorry about your sweet bun. Its very hard to have to put them down, but it sounds like you made the right call to keep him happy and free from pain. Many hugs to you! I actually recently (about a month ago) rescued a single maned black Lionhead buck from someone who was just...

    Temperament among different breeds

I think that I'm a bit biased on the breeds, (we all probably are) but I want to start off by saying that not ALL breeds are like the label we put on them. For example, I wouldn't ever recommend the Netherland Dwarf for new rabbits owners or ones with little kids, just because they can be...

    Overdue Netherland Dwarf Doe

I just put her with the buck, but kept a close eye on the two, he never mounted, she just kept running away in distress, but never attacked him. I then let her run around, so we'll see. I also palpated her again after that, but felt nothing. I know for sure she had kits in there. Maybe she...

    What do I do......

I think that it may startle them at first, but if it is continuous and you don't feel stressed and scared that they'll be scared (they can feed off your energy) then it should be fine. They'll get used to it and know its not something to fear. My buns are used to loud noises I make all the time. :D

    Toilet training a second bunny

I actually find that litter training the second one is often easier than the first. When my does that were litter trained had babies, they would teach the babies to use the litter box. I barely had to do a thing! Now, you would still need to help your new bun to understand thats the litter tray...

    Overdue Netherland Dwarf Doe

Hello! So, I have bred bunnies before, I've been breeding for about 4 years, maybe longer, but this is my first time breeding NDs. On Monday evening (three days ago), my BEW doe kindled two dead kits, one was stuck, other was malformed. She kindled a day early (was due Tuesday). My other doe, a...

My bunny keeps peeing on the sofa!!

She probably needs to be reminded that she pees in the litter box. I would recommend not allowing her to jump on the couch at all until you are confident she will keep peeing in the litter box. The problem with rabbit pee though, is the first time they do it, its hard to break them of it...

    My Little Lucifer

He looks great! A cute lil guy too. Just remember that when he's loose, to bunny proof the rooms he is in. The cords hanging everywhere is screaming 'bunny danger!' at me, :D but I'm sure you'll be a great bunny owner!

3 Rescue Buns in Need of Home - North Florida

Hello! I am a youth rabbit breeder, and on the occasion I have spare hutches that I am able to take in rabbits needing homes. I currently have 3 rabbits, one buck and two does. The first one we call Flicker. She looks like a broken black Mini Lop Holland lop mix. Her story is that she was...

    Second bunny

I personally have had success with bonding two neutered males, as well as a fixed male and unfixed female. In my opinion, I think that is would work, as long as neither bun is aggressive or territorial. The rabbit date is a great idea! Try that, and keep a close eye on the both of them. I would...
