Has anyone had a rabbit die while being spayed/neutered?

That’s so awful!! I’m so sorry for your loss and I’m sorry your rabbit had to go through that...definitely follow up with a complaint because it sounds like something went wrong. Small mammals like that are sensitive to anesthesia but still. At the very least you could get money back if you paid...

Bunny behaves differently after partner moved in

I always play it safe and if I notice a change in my rabbit I take him to the vet. Because things can happen very quickly with them and sometimes by the time they stop eating it can be too late. I’ve never noticed winter blues in my rabbit. But I second what was said, if you notice your rabbit...

I was told that my rabbit will become ‘autistic’ if he doesn’t socialize with other bunnies

I’ve never heard of rabbit autism...but rabbits are very social animals. They can benefit from living with another rabbit, IF it is a proper pair and there are also spaying/neutering considerations. However, I’ve had my rabbit for his whole life just on his own and he’s very content with just...

    Head tilt or a stroke?

Thanks for the replies! Doctor said there’s some kind of mass under his chin and jawline, near his lymph nodes. Sent me home with antibiotics in the hopes it’s just an infection. But also noted that she wouldn’t be able to remove it because of the location, and that his heart had “dropped...

    Head tilt or a stroke?

I don’t have a photo...but his walking...He is able to do it, his step is just heavy. I thought he was thumping at me at first.

    Head tilt or a stroke?

I also wanna say that whatever has happened/is happening, it’s affecting the way he walks as well. Idk if that’s common with head tilt? Or if that means something else.

    Head tilt or a stroke?

So I wanna preface this my saying I’m taking my little guy into a bunny vet later this afternoon...but I’d like to get some perspective from other rabbit owners. I have an 8 year old dwarf mix, and just the last day or so I’ve noticed is head is kind of tilting to one side and it looks like...

Just adopted a bunny, black scabs on nose

That's great it cleared up! Bunny illnesses can sometimes be very mysterious

    Skinny bunny

I agree with taking her to the vet if you haven't already just to get a professional opinion on it. But yes, pellets help with weight gain. If she is younger than you can give pellets made with alfalfa but if she's older use pellets made with timothy hay. Also introducing small amounts of bunny...

Rabbit digging/chewing carpet, and now towel?

I agree with trying to get him to chew on something else other than the carpet. My rabbit loves to eat up any kind of stacks of papers. Old telephone books, old piles of printer paper, old notebooks. Just make sure it's only the paper he's chewing on :)

Bunny has hard stomach and won’t eat normally

I second what was said above, call the vet and give them an update. The critical care helps but sometimes my rabbit won't take it so mixing it with some small amount of juice squeezed directly from an orange or a small amount of some mashed up banana can help. When I had to give my rabbit...

    Won't leave the litter box.

My rabbit liked to sit in his litter box in the beginning too, I think it is a comfort thing. Try taking her out in a bunny proof area while her cage is closed so she can get used to wandering. And definitely have yummy rabbit food around so she enjoys it! I wouldn’t say there’s reason to be...

    Questions! 1st time bun owner!

I have a 7 y/o male dwarf and his feet have a little tinge to them as well. It’s never given him any problems and I use the recycled paper material litter. But if everyone says the wood pellets will solve that issue, go for it. But I wouldn’t feel the need to clean his feet. He also still...

    Desperately need help please

If the rabbit savy vet said they were healthy and the doe is nursing them it seems like these two might make it! I wouldn’t be afraid to take them in again though in again, just to make sure everything is good cause you mentioned them having rather large heads, which can indicate swelling. But...

Excessive Drooling but NOT a teeth issue

Just in case anyone ever finds this post and has a similar issue...my rabbit is no longer drooling! After about 6 days of antibiotics and anti-inflams as well as the probiotic, there was almost no drooling. Vet said to continue for 4 more days, and now he’s back to normal! Was definitely some...

Help is this okay ?? Rabbit poo different

As long as she’s eating and pooping regularly I’d say she’s on the mend. It’s good that she’s sneezing a little less, and she’s probably a little stressed from the vet as well.

Sleeping with your rabbit? Has anyone done it?

I’ve had my rabbit actually break out of his cage to get in bed with me. They do move around a lot but I’d say there’s nothing unsafe about it.

Excessive Drooling but NOT a teeth issue

I’ll start adding pellets in his diet to get some more weight on him! And definitely if he doesn’t get better I’ll have to take him elsewhere for the needle biopsy. It’ll be costly but I can’t not help him out...Thank you so much!!!

Excessive Drooling but NOT a teeth issue

She said she couldn’t because it was so small...if his drooling doesn’t reduce with the medication within a week (by this upcoming Monday) she told me to go to a more specialized vet hospital like Upenn so they could remove it. I haven’t noticed him eating less...but I could do try syringe...

Excessive Drooling but NOT a teeth issue

Hoping someone can help me with this issue...I have a 7 y/o male netherland dwarf mix. For the past few weeks he has had excessive drooling coming from the one side of his mouth. He’s also lost some weight and has been drinking more than usual. Otherwise his behavior is completely normal. The...
