    Fur Mites: Best Treatment

To CONFIRM, you are stating that the best dosage is 0.1 milliliter (NOT milligram) of injectable ivermectin (1%) for a 5 lb. rabbit? And this is to be orally administered once, or HOW OFTEN? I want to be 100% confident on dosage before administrating, obviously. Thank you for clarifying, but I...

    Fur Mites: Best Treatment

Yes, the spray I use to treat flea + ticks is made specifically for small animals. I've used it for years and never had any issues! This is the ivermectin I have used in the past: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000HHLWPI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_KE9JYTS66PG3K686EN71. However, like I mentioned, I...

    Fur Mites: Best Treatment

It appears as though one of my adult bunnies has fur mites... I know this is easily treatable, and I have dealt with it before so know what to look for. However, it seems very very mild as there are no bald patches and just some dandruff-like flakes around the tail. I'm going to thoroughly clean...

How to pick up my skiddish rabbit when it's necessary?

Always gain trust first - imagine being a rabbit, and how terrifying it would be to be lifted off the ground so high without being properly supported! For me, head pets help to calm the bunny down instantaneously. Treats and other food act as a distraction, rather than keeping them relaxed. If...

What color would I get if I breed a BEW doe to a tort buck

Why are you waiting until May to pick her up, instead of the standard time to get a baby (2 months of age). Additionally, how do you already have her pedigree before buying the rabbit? Breeding to a lighter colored bunny won't simply eliminate the chance to get chestnuts, like I said it is...

What color would I get if I breed a BEW doe to a tort buck

I noticed that she was just born last month; hopefully she is still with her mom until old enough to be weaned! I still have so much to learn regarding rabbit genetics, but as I understand it, agouti is a dominant gene, possibly even over tort.

What color would I get if I breed a BEW doe to a tort buck

There is a high chance she is chestnut genetically, but seeing that she carries a lot of BEW / unknown colors, it is still difficult to decipher what she could be! I am assuming you will get shaded and agouti colorings from this pairing, but @SableSteel should know more for you.

What color would I get if I breed a BEW doe to a tort buck

Even though tort is a dominant gene, the outcomes of this pairing are dependent on what color the BEW is genetically. BEWs can genetically be any color hiding under a "white sheet". I don't advise breeding until you understand genetics! Is the BEW papered / pedigreed, or do you know what colors...

Can I breed a black tort to a harlequin?

No, as mentioned earlier, it depends on what color genetically the BEW is! Consider the white coat a sheet over the real color of your bunny. Pedigrees can help determine that! Tort is a dominant gene, though, especially black tort.

Can I breed a black tort to a harlequin?

I find the best way to get Vienna marked babies is breeding two Vienna marked bunnies together.

Can I breed a black tort to a harlequin?

When a ‘Normal’ non-Vienna rabbit is bred with a BEW then there is a 100% chance the offspring with be Vienna marked or Vienna carriers :)

    Coat Coloring Question

    Thank you for the clarification!!

    Coat Coloring Question

Okay, rephrasing my original question, does he appear to be a black/orange tri, or a blue/fawn (cream) tri? His coat is too light to be considered orange (at least from my experience), as is his black coat quite light compared to other black tri's I've seen!!

    Coat Coloring Question

Interesting! He appears lighter than cream, but on his pedigree (which I just got access to) he is call a orange / black / white tri. Dad is a magpie and mom is a red! So are there no other variations of tri-colors besides orange / black?

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B083NCDJ84/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_3F8V14SSF69102VPTSV3?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 This material works great, I've used it for about a year now and have had no issues with bunnies chewing it, etc. The only fault is pee stains show and it can break if you don't use enough...

    Coat Coloring Question

Black or Blue Tri-Color? At first I assumed it was black/cream pattern, but it looks different than typical tri's. Is it possible the bunny could be a blue coloring, or is the heavy pattern throwing me off? Here are some pictures, I would like to clarify this bunny is not mine, it is a friends...

Breeders: How do you give your rabbits exercise?

UM the answer to your question should always be yes. Rabbits, or any other animal for that matter, should never be cooped up in a small wire cage their whole life. To stay healthy, exercise is a must. To give all of my bunnies ample exercise, they each get their own individual pen in our...

Should Two Reed Eyed White Rabbits Produce REW Offsprings

With Blue Eyed Whites (BEW), when bred together they produce 100% BEW. I'm assuming the same rule goes for Red Eyed Whites, but I have never personally worked with this color. Blue Eyed White’s (& REW’s) technically "hide" their true base color of the bunny in it's homozygous form. This means...
