need some help ,my bunny dyed getting spayed!

As for leaving ovaries behind deliberately, it is also possible for ovarian remnants to be left by accident (as ovaries in rabbits are so so tiny!). And as much as we hear some sad stories of bunnies lost to the anaesthetic, we also get many members on here saying they wish they had spayed...

need some help ,my bunny dyed getting spayed!

It really is a personal choice based on your own rabbit, I didn’t get Poppy spayed until she was about a year old, she was having constant false pregnancies and plucking herself bald, she was also very aggressively humping, biting, very territorial... I ended up with a very cuddly sweet...

is it better to get 2 girl bunnies or one of each?

The best thing to do would be to get a pair who are both already fixed and bonded. Otherwise you can never guarantee they will get on. Otherwise you’d have to get two bunnies, keep them separate until they are both fixed, then gradually work on the bonding process that can be really difficult...

How to get my newer rabbit to like being rubbed

Like I said, not all bunnies like cuddles. That’s something you’ll have to make your peace with if she isn’t keen on pets, she might like it more as she gets older and mellows out.

How to get my newer rabbit to like being rubbed

You say she lunges at you because she thinks you’re going to pick her up... And then you pick her up to teach her you “aren’t trying to harm her”. You literally do the thing she is scared of you doing. Holding them won’t teach them you aren’t scary, because they don’t want to be held. If a prey...

How to get my newer rabbit to like being rubbed

She isn't being "mean". If a rabbit is being aggressive they are either scared or territorial. If you are having big problems with territorial behaviour getting her spayed might help. Punishing her by holding her will only make her like you even less, and make her consider being held as a bad...

    Needing few tips

Where do they live? Are they in your house? How long have you had them? What problem are you having exactly? You need to take it really slow with rabbits. Try sitting in their play area and let them come up and sniff around you. Don't touch them, just let them learn you aren't a threat. You can...

    Chewing habit?

Yes rabbits will definitely do that to a cardboard playhouse. It is really good enrichment for them. If you want to provide an indestructible house it will need to be made of plastic or wood (if they aren't wood chewers)m or you can just keep providing lots of cardboard boxes like I do for mine.

    Chewing habit?

You'll never be able to stop it! Cardboard is really good fun to chew, and is the only material my bunny will chew. She can destroy a massive box in days. Why do you want to stop the chewing? They enjoy making their own little hideyholes and renovating the place.

    Rabbit Has Tumor Need Advice

Yes, that is normal, but recovery from a lump removal won’t be drastic, especially if the lump is just in the skin? It will just be a case of the wound healing. Yeah age isn’t really a factor with anaesthetics - it is more important the animal is healthy. If your vet (who is good with rabbits?)...

    Rabbit Has Tumor Need Advice

Right, well that still isn’t enough to determine if it is a tumour or not. Yeah that doesn’t sound right to me, it would take one operation to remove it..? 6 isn’t particularly old, and even if she is older I think as long as she is well in herself and they do a proper pre-anaesthetic exam...

    Rabbit Has Tumor Need Advice

What do you mean by your vet “opened” it? If they cut it open they should have removed it there and then, and you can’t know if a lump is cancer or just benign by just looking at it. It depends how much money you want to spend - you could do the X-ray and check for spread. If it hasn’t spread...

    Rabbit toys

Treat dispensing balls are a really good way of making their food take longer to eat and also keeping them busy. My bun gets her pellets in a treat ball every morning when I go out and it probably keeps her busy for all of 2 minutes now she has perfected the technique :’)

    Rabbit Has Tumor Need Advice

Did your vet say what organ the tumour is in? Is it in the skin, or actually inside the tummy? Did your vet take a needle biopsy at all? Would be useful to know what kind of tumour it is because that will give a better idea of if it is likely to have spread. It doesn’t always come back with a...
