Hey everyone! I just can’t get enough of bunny cuteness! Please share a picture of your bunny so people like me can see other bunny cuteness!!

Here are some of our buns. The first shot is of our three upstairs free-roam buns, just chillin'. The second one is our rescued and lovingly nurtured cottontail, Pat, close up. When we let Pat out of his private room were worried that the bigger buns might fight and injure him; so, we...

Anyone one else have 6 rabbits?!

We love it, too. Our cottontail, Pat, loves to stand and walk on his hind feet. He is a very happy rabbit and a joy to have around. This is just a reminder that Pat was rescued from a dog attack before his eyes were open. He was so tiny and fragile we didn't think he'd survive. We told...

Anyone one else have 6 rabbits?!

We have seven, was eight until we lost one to e. cuniculi a few weeks ago. There are two bonded pairs and we once had three, a brother and a sister being the third; but, when we started letting the seventh, a rescued cottontail buck, free roam, the brother started getting very aggressive toward...

    Have you used the FURminator?

We tried a Furminator and found that for heavy molting it doesn't work very well. We've settled on a Small Pet Select HairBuster Comb. It has wire teeth with a rubber strip woven along the base of the teeth. It removes the bulk of the fur. For finishing up the job the Furminator is great...

Cottontails in our yard (as our dog looks on)

Here's our cottontail, being fostered after a dog attack. It will be five weeks old on Friday. It has been under our care for four weeks, today.

Bunny Photos-- Share Cute Bunny Photos

I hope I'm not breaking any rules with these pix. Forgive me and delete if I have. Anyhow, the e-mail notice said "...Share Cute Bunny Photos." I hope these qualify. This bunny was snatched from a dog attack at five-days old. We are getting it ready for return to the wild.

    Flowers as food?

Our buns love rose blossoms. Some of them like dandelions. Most of them like Robinia blossoms--they are related to locusts; the blossoms are edible but the rest of the shrub is mildly toxic.

Was there any reason why you bought a bunny?

As a matter of fact, it had not occurred to me to put a collar and bell on our cat. Splendid idea! :) Now that you mention it, long ago I had heard of doing that; but, put it out of mind. Thank you for the suggestion. Here is another picture of Angelo. He and I got along very well. Every...

Was there any reason why you bought a bunny?

We have no idea if Angelo is still alive. We live next to a fairly busy road and there is some prime habitat on the far side of it. The buns cross back and forth and every now and then they lose an argument with a vehicle tire. :( More exactly, the variety we have around here is the...

Was there any reason why you bought a bunny?

Our cat is responsible for us getting into bunnies. It nearly killed a cottontail kit. When we discovered the poor little thing out on the lawn we rescued and rehabilitated it, raising it to adulthood. Wild creatures belong in the wild; so, when the time was right we released Angelo (Angel...

    Do rabbits recognize their owners?

Of course, your bun recognizes you. All seven of our rabbits prefer me over my wife. I can pet them at will; however, when she tries touching them they will usually shy away. I am their main care-giver, so this is understandable. My wife usually limits herself to giving them treats, which...

Is it possible to keep/domesticate a wild cottontail rabbit?

When we rescued Bun-Bun we fed him kitten milk replacer with a wee bit of heavy cream added--fed with a small syringe. The one we are using here was too big. The one-ml size would have been much better. A large syringe could squirt too much and get the milk into the babe's lungs. Bad...

    First time owners!

Welcome aboard! I'm glad you decided to get into the wonderful world of rabbits. My fervent wish is that you read everything you can about these wonderful creatures and don't rely upon word-of-mouth advice. A good place to start is at the House Rabbit Society's Web page: https://rabbit.org/...

Ever feel bad for your rabbit?

I feel bad for our little doe, Blue, whenever she has tummy upsets. When she's well, I'm happy. When it comes right down to it, I read each of our seven bunnies' behavior every day. If any of them seems out of sorts, I feel bad, really bad. When they get back to their old routine I'm happy...

    Outdoor pictures

The best I can say is "mixed breed." When we started looking for rescue rabbits my main criteria was that they be "cottontail color." These two fit the bill. I love 'em dearly.

We rotate our buns' opportunities to get outdoors every morning and evening. They love it. This is one of our bonded pairs, Peter and Flopsy.

Best pet carrier for a flemish giant?

Think big. There are some rabbit shows that I've stopped attending because I've seen too many instances of bunnies crammed into cages and carriers that are far too small; it amounts to abuse, pure and simple.

How to get my rabbit to lose weight??

We have two neutered does that tend to get a bit overweight. I completely stopped feeding pellets to one of them and have severely cut back on the other. I made no other changes to their feed which consists of unlimited hay, willow leaves (in season) willow twigs, and greens, such as parsley...

    Conjunctivitis...

Our vet diagnosed our Flemish Giant as having conjunctivitis and she prescribed Terramycin ointment, twice a day in the eye for a week. I hated to do things like that to my big beautiful boy; but, like the gentle giant that he is, he took it stoically. It made me love him even more. The...

Share picture of your bunnies as young and grown up

The first shot shows Blue getting special attention. She was the runt in a litter of nine and when the babes emerged from their nest and started roaming, she would wobble along, barely able to keep from toppling over. We fed her kitten milk replacer laced with cream. Now, she's a big girl...
