Winter is on its way and im wanting some advice About keeping Daisy warm
I was thinking of getting a indoor hutch for her to come inside when it gets dark so she will be warm and then just taking her outside for the day time so she still gets her run about.

Would that be okay for her.

hi,yes winter is on its way, soon comes round. As far as i know you are not suppose to bring rabbits indoors in the winter and put them out on good days because they can catch cold,if you bring daisy in she will not get her winter coat so not be prepared for when you do put her out,so its either leave her in or keep her out but im feeling same as you,but iv 2 dogs so mine as to stay outside.

Is there any way to provide an area in her cage (or hutch, not sure which you have) that she can be out of the elements such as the wind and rain?
It's better if she can acclimate to the environment around her, that way it toughens them up, so to speak (kinda like putting young plants in a cold-frame to prepare them for being transplanted in the ground later).
Ours stay outside all year -their cages are covered in the evening, or all-day if it rains, otherwise the cold weather seems to give them a lot less trouble than heat.
A couple times last year in the dead of winter we put them in our garage for a couple days, but as I said, the cold doesn't seem to bother them as long as they have shelter from rain.

I'm currently building a large outdoor area for my rabbit. I got an idea from our local zoo. I am going to place about 4 square straw bales in the center, stacked in such as way as to provide him a nice, cozy shelter to hide in.
