Hi all,
I have a year-old mini lop named Zeke. The two of us arecompletely bonded! If I lay down on the floor, he will run upnext to me, lick my face, then do a "dead bunny flop" and take a napwith me! He follows me around, climbs all over me... inshort, we'rebuddies! :kiss1
On Monday, I leave for an internship in Los Angeles for fiveweeks. Then I'll be home for about five days, then I'm off towork at an overnight camp for two months. I'm really worriedthatafter these extended periods of time,he willforget me or lose interest, drift apart, whatever.
I used to keep him at my apartment at school, but then I decided tobring him to my house (I spent more time there anyway and wanted tobuild him a huge cage and let him have free run of an entireroom). After a month or so, I broughtZeke back tothe apartment so one of my roommates could see him again. Hehad previously gotten along with my roommate very, very well, but whenI brought him back, he was very aggressive with my roommate! He was biting, lunging, etc. It was as if he had completelyforgotten who my roommate was...
I'm really nervous that this will happen with Zeke andmyself. Zeke loves my mom and she'll be caring for him whenI'm gone. I'm not worried about him in the least (mymomloves him and has a lot of experience with rabbits),but... I'm just afraid that he'll forget me, lose interest in me, orsomething. Does this happen with bunnies?
Erin
