My rabbits are all 1 year old. I didnt know they had scent glands and i didnt know they had to be cleaned! Help?! i hope its not too late! Thanks!
Where are the scent glands and how do i clean them?

It depends on how comfortable you are with holding your bunns!
If you've never done it before they are probably not going to be impressed that you suddenly got it into your head one day to poke around down there!:biggrin:
Or if you haven't attempted this before...I suggest two people for the first time!
Just be careful if there is a build up.
It will cling to the sensitive skin in the fold and it would hurt like heck to just rip it off.
Use warm water and just swab along the edges until it loosens and then it can just be swabbed out.
Some rabbits will need their glands cleaned more often than others...some other bunns barely have any build up...it just depends on the individual bunn! You won't really know until you've done it once or twice, how often your particular bunns will need to be checked! Maybe you are one of the lucky ones whose rabbits don't need to be cleaned often and there isn't a crust to deal with?!

we usually check them while clipping nails with one holding and one clipping. Have also done the cleaning by myself as my bunnies are used to a certain amount of handling.

Luckily im not squeamish when it comes to funky bunny smells.
Unfortunately, I can't get their glands cleaned professionally without paying for a high appointment price. So, Im working up the energy to beg my sister to help me. Ive got 4 bunns and they all need to be cleaned and clipped, so this will be interesting!
