So I have read many things on what to do and so many things say different so now I turn here.

I have yet to come upon this and I hope I don't but we all know how things go and I was wondering what is the way to cure it?Especially if its due to a diet change

Since my bun is only 8 weeks and I was told no alfalfa and then found here and learned he needed it I have added a cube his poo is now light brown from a dark brown? not soft so I am guessing from the cube I plan on adding the alfalfa slowly.

Also what are signs of gas and bloat in a bunny?

Thank you

Do you mean that he's already on alfalfa based pellets and you are just adding the cubes? Did he have timmy hay or cubes before?

I'll just be sort of broad here, but the main thing is to just go slow with food additions or changes. If you start seeing soft poops or excess cecals, slow down even more. When my buns were very young I used alfalfa hay but not the cubes. So I'm wondering if you could even break the cubes apart to ease the adjustment if needed.

Also, I gave timmy hay to my young buns in addition to alfalfa hay and they've always been on alfalfa pellets.

Here's a link to info on gas/bloat:

ok this is a weird answer, but i *think* lighter poo can be from lots of hay particles in the poo, kinda like horse poo that's full of hay?

My basic worry is this

When I got Jasper On this past Mon he was on a g.pig mix with bunny pellet since they did not know what g.pig pellet they mixed I only got the one they told me they used for bunny pellet(dunno what base it is)

I was told No Alfalfa just timmy so thats when I came here and found out after I wrote my intor here that Jasper should have alfalfa as he is a growing bun .

Since I assume he has never had alfalfa in his short life I am worried he will end up with soft poo or worse and I like to be preparedand know what I myself can do ifit happens at a timewhen no vets are around.

I am slowlygoingto add lose alfafa hay to his diet as I just got it in today and only had the cubes on hand.In the next few weeksI plan on adding a alfalfa base pellet to his diet as I don't want to change his diet up in one shot as I am worried it might shock him to much

And I myself would feel better knowing that I have a care sheet for it if it does happen
