Hi everyone,

I went out this morning to water and feed and my el doe has torn her ear during the night or early this morning. There is blood EVERYWHERE but it only seems to be a small tear on the end. What can or should I do about it?? I put her in a smaller cage for right now. That way I have better access to her.

If it is still bleeding, put some Styptic Powder on it to stop the bleeding. If you don't have any, plain old flour will work in a pinch. It might be a good idea just to put some basic Neosporin (Triple Antibiotic) on it. It most likely looks a lot worse than it really is. There is a lot of blood going thru those ears so when they bleed, they put on a show.

Ill say....theres a lot of blood for a little bity tear. Now does anyone have any ideas about getting blood out of white fur?...Will she clean it out herself you think?

Unless it's really bad....don't sweat it, it will come out on it's own. She has probably had enough stress for a few days. I would suggest leaving the blood alone for now and just let her (and you)calm down. I remember the first time we had things like that happen....it looked really bad and I think we were stressed more than the rabbit.
