Well I'm no expert but I believe Oxbow pellets are pretty good. They don't have too much fat and are pretty good quality. :)

I have heard that oxbow is a good food. Ijust checked the nutrition facts and the protein is only 14% , another food of theirs is 15% and the organic is 12% .

From the little bit of research I have done it is suggested that young rabbits should get 16-18% protein.

Thank you for your response, it may be a food that a will use when she is older and in need of maintenance formula.

Welcome to the forum :)

Can you please put your location in your profile because it will mean you will get more specific help because food can differ country to country :)

What is his current diet? what pellets have you been feeding him so far?

Some people will say that an alfalfa based pellet is best up until 6 months, I personally just stuck with a regular grass hay based pellet and have had no problems with that in any of my crew.

Thanks for doing that :) Hopefully someone US based will be able to give you a better idea :)

Hi fellow NY'er. I use Oxbow and it's been great for Sophie since he has a sensitive tummy. There's the 15/23 for kits under 6 months and its alfalfa based.

Southern Agriculture (Purina Advanced Nutrition Show Formula ) this is what I'm currently feeding my buns, and they seem to be doing very well on it).

I've fed my bunnies all of the above except Oxbow (a lot of good reports on that one).

Mine seem to be doing very well on the Purina formula- it is alfalfa based, but my little ones are all under 6mos., and mom & dad are being fed a mix of the Purina & Sweetmeadow - their coats are looking very, very good (and considering it's very hot here, I can't wait to see them when the weather cools down a bit after they molt).

Purina Rabbit Chow Green bag is what they feed the young shelter bunnies. It's pretty cheap, if that's a concern. Oxbow 15/23 is also a good alfalfa pellet for young'uns. At this age, he needs unlimited alfalfa-based pellets with higher protein and calcium than an adult rabbit.
