I love my gerti, and i was told that she was a lionhead bunny. However, most lionheads that i have seen are much more compact in shape than my baby. Does anyone know what she may be? Im assuming a lionhead mix...

This was her as a baby

She does look larger than most lionheads that I have seen. I would guess some kind of mix, but someone else might have a better idea?

i agree with AmyBunny. Defiently some sort of lion head mix. In the picture with the book, she is def the cutest rabbit i have ever seen with that black face and long silky hair.

I think she's cuter then any pure lion head!

A popular mix with Lionheads are Holland Lops, so that may be it. I have seen many holland lops with her type, people just breeds for pets/money and they end up with a racey looking holland. Not all rabbits who are purebred look like the breed standard so just because she does not have a big square head and short ears does not mean she is not a holland mix.

I do agree she is probably not purebred, my guess is she has lop mixed in with her. The ears just give it away, in my opinion.

I call her awkwardly beautiful :)

Its amusing.. I didnt know that holland lops and lionheads were commonly bred together. We had a male (That we were told was neutered and turned out not to be) and they had two litters together. The babies were absolutely adorable!

I am by no means and expert, but she looks like a Lionhead and a Jersey Wooley mix. My first thought was that she looks very much like my foster-bun Katie who was a JW, but then I saw that beautiful mane indicating some Lionhead. Very pretty bunny... :D

Just my two cents....

She's definitely a Lionhead mix, based on the shape of the face and body as well as the large ears.

I'd say NOT a LH/HL mix though. That wouldn't change the body structure that much.

My two buns are a mini-rex lionhead mix, and they are a lot more compact than your bun - but when they flop they're long buns! I don't know what to say to you, except your bunny is the cuuuutest.
