what I hope to be my first tattoo

If your tattoo was $150 - $200, then I'd tip between $40 - $60. Thats just me though. I love my tattoo artist and always go back to him, so I am generous because I want him to know that I appreciate all of his efforts to give me what I want. Keep in mind he spends days/weeks drawing out what I want done before doing my tattoos....so there is a lot of thought into all of it.

Around here artists usually charge by the hour for custom work and its around 100-150$/hr.

If your just getting something small(butterfly, heart etc.) then they usually give a set price. My friend got a small tribal dragonfly on her foot and it was around 50$

I always tip between 20-80 depending on how long my session was, my last session was 6 hours so i tipped 60
10 an hour over 2 hours is my motto but like undergunfire i love my tat guy and always go to him
