and you aren't allowed to handle the rabbitsright???? (to be honest i've never done it at even state level but i'mstudying hard) if that's the case, (you can't handle them) how are youever supposed to tell the belly color, or if its a flyback/rollback, orother things!!! like on cavies, how would you know if its agolden agouti or a solid golden?

Rules vary, but some contests allow you to reach into thecage. As you mentioned, you really need to pick upthe cavies to seeiftheir isbellyband. In a recent competition, my son said that thecavies were hiding under the hay -- he couldn't even see them, letalone attempt to id them

My kids have competed at the local, state and national level and have always had a great time and learned a lot.

I'm not a cavy expert, but have occasionally judged non-sanctioned shows and am doing the Pennsylvania State Cavy Bowl.
