I've been watching Angel's bald spots, and they're definitely slightly crusty lesions now. I'm guessing it's mange or some other kind of mite. I've looked it up and everywhere suggests getting Revolution for kittens, since it treats mange, mites, fleas, and almost every little bug a rabbit is prone to, apparently.

She's also been passing mucus again, though she passes normal poop as well. She's eating her hay all the time and doesn't appear to be in any kind of pain. I did notice it started about the same day as I noticed the bald spots, just a couple of days ago.

Are you sure the crusts aren't healing of spots she's rubbed. I wouldn't want to give meds unless I were sure they were needed. I'd think a vet visit was in order.

I thought they were at first, but the spots are getting harder and larger and the crusts are white. Maybe I should try to get some pictures. One is on her right hind foot and the other on the corner of her right eyelid. And she feels like she's getting one on her back. I can't see it, but I can feel it when I pet her.

Unfortunately, there aren't any rabbit-savvy vets I can get her to any time soon.

Yes, it should look the same regardless of animal. Of course some vets wouldn't be willing to see an 'exotic' species.

Did you search for mange online & see if the pictures looked like the same thing? If it's a fungus or bacteria, treating with revolution wouldn't help & could further weaken an immune system already weakened by an infection.

I did check some images. Most of them were of severe cases, so they didn't look similar to her spots. But checking her eyelid today, it actually looks a little better. I'm wondering again if she didn't just scrape herself up while playing around. She has trouble putting on her brakes sometimes, and hits the open cage door. She seems perfectly happy and active.

I don't think it would look better if it were mange or an infection, but keep alert for any changes. I'm glad it seems right now to be nothing that needs treatment. [Unless there's a treatment for poor navigation, lol.]

My original worries were correct. We got a hold of a vet that would treat a bunny and they gave us Revolution. Now we can kill those nasty little bugs.
