Hey all you vancouverites...and anyone wanting to come visit. We should try to get together this month. I'll be moving back to Vancouver Island come September and I would love to get together with everyone before I leave. Unfortunately I can't host here since I live with a roommate in a small basement suite but if there is anyone that would like to host that would be great. I would be willing to take on all the planning and if we all pitched in for food it wouldn't even have to cost us that much.

Let me know what you all think and we will come up with a date :)

:wave2 I can host! I'm ion the West End. :)

When is everybody in town? Anybody planning a Vancouver visit from elsewhere?

I do need to have surgery soonish, I'm not sure when, I may only get a few days notice, but I'll only be out of commission a few days, just not sure which days. But next weekend and probably the weekend after are safe bets.

Great idea, Faerin. :)

I may be able to bus/sky train down to Vancouver.. not sure. But if I can, I'd be up for a get together! I'd love for you guys to meet some of my guys, but they'd have to stay at home unfortunately!

I can also host if needed. Sas, that way if you do have to go for surgury, the party doesn't have to relocate.

I've mentioned to Spring that I can help her get out to Vancouver.

Now, how much notice to we need? I'm available this week end or the week end of the 22nd of Aug.

Do either of you have a BBQ?

I was thinking if we all bring our own meat and then something else like a salad, chips, drinks, appy or something else that would work best.

We should have a list here so we know what people are bringing.

I think I am going to bring some pasta salad.

My apologies...I'm quite hugely tired right now...but where would this be?

Vancouver/Lower Mainland BC.

Don't worry Rosie, I'm coming out to Alberta first week of September, and once I get my schedule figured out, I'll try to arrange something out that way too!

Oh, that'd be great! I'd love to meet you! :)

This weekend or next weekend works fine for me, what about everyone else?

I have plans for the 22nd and 23rd (possibly) but other than that, I'm good for pretty much any day.

I can bring any food, so just let me know what to bring :).

Okay, how about we give a shot for this week end?

How many people can make it for August 8th? For 6pm? (Spring, we'll do a pick up earlier in the afternoon)

We can do a bring your own meat or meat alternative. I can make some potatoe salad, and I've got lots of lettuce for salad in my garden.

We have a bbq here and a backyard -- and I have a couple of x-pens.

But... no parking. At least not for a couple of blocks. I can probably arrange one spot with my neighbour's driveway.

April (Pixiestixx) and BunnyRosanna are close to me as well, they won't need parking.

I'm also good for Dawn's I guess, if it's not too hard to get there by bus, but best to assess who's coming and who's driving.

PS: Rosie, it's only a 14 hour drive to Edmonton, come on down! I'd seriously love to meet you.

And maybe Stan and Jan can do a quick trip too!

PPS: I can do homous and tzatziki. (Can't spell it but I can make it). And surely I'm not the only vegetarian in this crowd?

Ugh, it's a 50 minute bus ride at best. The Fraser bus goes way out of the way the opposite direction before actually going to Fraser. :p

I'll have to play it by ear -- or by vertigo, same thing.

I might be able to pick you up SAS. I was going to pick up some wood pellets when out in Surrey to pick up Spring, which I will need to drop some off at your place anyways.

However, it it is easier for most people to get to your place, then your place it is. I'm not sure where everyone else is coming from.

Oh, I just bought some awesome Hummus at Costco, and we've got lots of it :)

A go from my end! Checked the skytrain/bus route and it looks like it would only be about an hour and a bit travel time.. not too bad. Would have to be out of there by 7:30ish to avoid some of the drunken bus goers on a Saturday night, but other than that, sounds good! :D Would someone be able to drop me off at the skytrain though?

I'd probably need to bring something that's ok out of the fridge.. so might bring a veggie and fruit platter maybe? will have to check. (left overs can be put to good use too! ;))
