Hi guys!! :wave:

Just a quick update before the battery runs out here to say I'm having a FANTASTIC TIME!!!!!

All the problems with the money luckily got sorted- my card randomly started working and we've been able to draw cash. PLUS, Steve got a call yesterday to say they found his wallet on the plane! With all $250 in it!!!!!!!! :biggrin2: We're taking the BART to the airport later to pick it up (it's only about 20mins or so? and our hotel is right by the station!)

I can see Union Square from our window- which is dangerous as I can also see macy's, Saks and Tiffany's LOL :shock::shock::shock: And I've already spent too much on stuff!

We've been on a cruise round the bay, to Alcatraz, Golden Gate Park, Ferry Building, Fisherman's Wharf (not good for someone with a phobia of crabs lol) and lots other places I can't remember now. Today we're going shopping on Union Sq etc, and then taking a cable car to near Lombard St etc and hopefully going to Coit Tower. Tomorrow we want to walk across the Golden Gate Bridge. We'd love to go to Napa, but don't think we can afford it- the trips are all super expensive...

I've come on here a couple of times to scan the forum but not had any time to catch up properly. I hope everyone is well! I miss you all, but I'm having SUCH a great time that we really don't want to come home. We would actually consider moving here! Except to see the bunnies. We miss them so much, and were watching their videos this morning over and over again lol But I hear they're doing brilliantly- Chalk's taking her medicine and stuffing her face with food, and her wound looks really good according to the sitter! :dude:

Omg.. I'd have died right there. Oh my my... I am unable to travel alone for that very reason. I am just terrified!!!

Had I known before I'd have wired you some money, I'm sorry I didn't see it before! I sure am glad that it worked out though! Gosh what crappy luck! Glad you are ok now though missing you... :hug:

Aww Jen so sorry your trip started off so terribly I somehow missed that before. I'm really glad though that everything's okay now! Great to hear that Chalk is doing fine without you and you're having an awesome vacation. I'm really happy you got to go. How many more days are you there for?

It really was about time that something went right for us lol.... I was dreading what else could go wrong!

We've decided that we're going to go and get take away and sneak it back into our hotel tonight, and relax a bit. It's been such a hectic week! I've been up at around 6.30am every day this week and we've been trekking about non-stop! Hence I'm taking some time out to come online and check my emails and post a bit...

The city is really busy tonight- there's a massive protest march against the new law that's being passed banning same-sex marriage, which has caused a bit of mayhem with the traffic. When they started out a couple of blocks up we could hear them from our hotel room.

I LOVE this place though. It would take an awful lot to get me and the bunnies out of England- out of Bristol even! But we've both said that we would actually consider moving here should we ever be able to afford it lol. Everything is just nicer! Even the fast food is nicer by UK standards lol. And the service! Actual smiles rather than grumpy evil looks in restaurants! And everybody is so friendly. We literally paused to check our map a couple of times on the street and people were coming up to us asking if we were ok and needed any help...


Oh, and yesterday, we got the boat to Alcatraz, to tour round. When we got off the boat back at the pier, we saw Russell Brand!!! (UK comedian- been in the news a bit recently when he lost his job at BBC Radio 2) He was having his picture taken with people, and being very pleasant. I was going to go and say hello and have my picture taken but I was too shy lol! I'm not a huge fan or anything but he is quite funny and I thought the whole thing in the news was blown out of proportion...

ANYWAY! I'm rambling as usual lol- I'm sure you've all missed that! I'll try and put some pics on photobucket to show you guys later! It's so funny to think that I'm now behind most of you in time, instead of in front like I normally am lol!

Jen, I'm so glad things have turned around for you and you're having a great time in San Francisco!

My best friend lives there, and I'm SO jealous! (She works at the H&M store near Union Square. But she lives in a tiny studio apartment because housing there is crazy expensive. She doesn't need a car, though, because the public transport is so good. No room for bunnies in tiny apartments, though. )
I went to visit 2 years ago and just loved that city. My husband and I have also decided that, if we can ever afford it, we would jump at the chance to move there. He's in the IT field, but just starting out, I'm hoping that after some years of experience his skills will be portable enough that we can look towards San Francisco.
