I've had this awful lingering cough for about a week and a half, and have been going through Ricolas like it's my job. I'd left a few on the night table every night and Q hadn't bothered them. This morning about 8, I was half awake and looked over and saw her munching on something next to the night table.
She'd eaten nearly the whole wrapper from one of my cough drops! They're wrapped in this weird wax paper. I took it away from her, but she pulled another one off the night table (I guess she liked the taste), so I moved them all to my desk.

She seems fine, but it has only been like 2 hours. She's eating normally, and still a poop monster. Is there any real harm in her consuming a bite of wax paper?

could potentially cause a blockage. Keep her eating, push hay and water and keep an eye on her.

I don't think the paper itself would be harmful, assuming she chewed it up. Ricolas aren't one of the cough drops that actually has a drug in it, right?
I'd keep an eye on her for the next few days to make sure she's eating and pooping.

I'm not sure what kind of wax it is, so that might be of concern. But people used to use wax paper to wrap lots of food, so it may be ok.

It should pass through ok. I don't know whether it will get broken down at all, since the wax protects the paper from water. The harsh acids of the digestive tract could work through the wax though, and that would allow the paper to get broken down. I second what others have said. You may not see it clearly in poos, but if it has been 2-3 days without issues it should have passed ok.

She's been fine all day. She didn't get the cough drop, only the paper. And Ricolas don't have the chemical stuff in them, so...
I haven't seen it in her poop, but she's acting fine. Thanks!
