Ok I went to a show today and told myself NO MORE rabbits. I was making my rounds and stopped at some velveteen lops and said oh I am so smitten with these guys. She said well make me an offer I need cage space for winter so I said well I'll think about it. I wasn't planning on buying one because I am tight on cage space as well so I went on my merry way with the show. Well she hunted me down and said pick whatever one you want and you can just have him. Well I surely couldn't turn down a free velveteen lop!!!

She had 3 bucks and they were all ok a little short in the ear but had some nice qualities. I chose a 5 month cream buck who is sweet as pie. He just falls asleep in my lap on his back and loves to be cradled like a baby. I am in love already. What sweet temperaments. Now I might just have to find a doe and start a program.......

is it just me or who else can't go to a show without coming home with another rabbit???

OMG! I have wanted a velvateen lop for YEARS. About... ok 6 years ago I remember thinking "It would be awesome if they took long lop ears and put on rexie bunnies", a year later I saw one but did not have the money on me. Ever since I have wanted one. They are so cute!

Ohhh he sounds so cute. That is what goliath does I hold him like a baby and he just falls asleep. He ius just so calm. Windy was the same until she got just over 6lb now she is a little on the hyper side. Could be the age too she is almost 5mo.

here he is. Now I need a name

it is a total different breed. They were created from the mini rex and english lops so it has the coat of the mini rex with the english face and ears but the ears are fairly shorter than the english

she had opal, chestnut and an orange doe but she wasn't free. The fur is soft but a little more coarse than the others but the density was much better than the other 2 bucks. I really chose him for his mellow personality. I don't know what the standards are and what to look for but I think I'll have to learn. They have to pass at convention this year and they will be an offical breed. There are a few breeders here in Minnesota so now I'll be on the lookout for a doe

Aww very cute!
I went to the fair and ended up coming home with a bunny :bunnyheart couldnt help myself!!!

Darn I wish I knew of it..
1) is it on the fair grounds??
2) if so which building??
3) Is there a list or something so I can b updated on the shows???

yes it was on the fairgrounds I think it was the horse building

Go to arba.net and click on shows and scroll down to MN and there will be a contact person you can email for show details.

I think I am going to the one this weekend in Cambridge. The shows are so fun

Let me know if you can make either one and we can meet up
