my valentines daystarted out horrible(if you read my post you would know)... my cousin kept my kids at her house i didn't want my kids alone until man is arrested... hubby took me to dinner... he didnt have time to buy me anything whick is ok by me... I enjoyed my dinner...

Bat, sorry to hear your day wasn't that good! And I'm laughing at the Neti pot :D Katie, where did he get the pizza from?

I had a very nice day! I got up early and made french toast and scrambled eggs for Paul, then when he came home for lunch I had heart shaped meatballs (I thought it would be funny) and a chocolate eclair pie for him. That night, we went to our favorite Mexican restaurant where for $25 you got fajitas for two and strawberry fried ice cream. Delicious, and we have enough for another dinner! Yeah, we had lots of food yesterday, but we agreed not to buy each other any candy.

Paul gave me a pretty azalea plant with pink flowers (he always gives me live plants instead of bouquets) and a gift card to a local department store. There aren't that many stores here in Fairbanks and he wanted to take me somewhere to buy a pretty bracelet or earrings or a sweater because I'm cheap and won't spend my own money on that kind of thing. We're going to go on Sunday and I'm really looking forward to it!

I gave him a bunch of roses made out of red duct tape, I used an entire roll! They look like these: http://www.instructables.com/id/Duct-Tape-Rose/ I think mine turned out prettier and he liked them. I also found a really pretty little notepad at Barnes and Noble and wrote a bunch of "coupons" for things like rental movie night with soda, popcorn and candy, washing the dishes for him, taking out the trash for him, ice cream at Cold Stone Creamery (did you know that Alaskans eat more ice cream per person than any other state?) and one for the Nintendo DS game of his choice. He liked it!

All in all, it was a fun day :biggrin2: Oh and my mom sent me some cute socks, a pink puppy dog and a Salad Spinner for Valentine's Day!

Moose's Tooth *starts drooling* they also make the best cream soda ever. Other people (my mother and boyfriend) say they make pretty good bear too, but since I don't drink I just ignore that part of the operation.

I am so making some of those duct tape roses! What a great idea!

Hehe! I thought you were going to say the pizza was from the Moose's Tooth! We went there last March and it was really nice. I don't like beer usually, but the apple beer was good! They have a raspberry wheat beer too that I want to try... A couple weekends ago, one of Paul's friends brought a keg of apple beer up but for some reason it didn't taste as good as last time to me. Oh well!

Making the roses was fun and took a while. I made them varying sizes, some were just little rosebuds. I recommend you use two pieces of floral wire on the bigger roses because the duct tape gets pretty heavy! For me, it worked best to rip off a bunch of tape squares, then fold them all into triangles at once, then put them all on the flower at once. It was less tedious than doing each petal one at a time for some reason!

Ben (my boyfriend) likes the apple beer too. Since they brew their own it's possible you just got a different session (or whatever it's called :p) of beer.

I'm using a different kind of wire since it's what I have, it's beading wire and it's a thicker guage (I think floral wire is around 18, mine is 24). Thanks for the tips!

Aside from the large item I got.. which I kinda wanna mention..kinda not.. because not everybody is on the best of their luck right now, and it is extravagant...I mean, I am excited as all get out.. but I must stress it is NOT something I get all the time... if EVER.. the last time I got one was 2001.. and I bought it meself...yes I said meself...

My husband also gets me the Valentine's bear from Wal-Mart.. yanno the ones that have the year embroidered on the foot..I have one for every year we have been married.. 17 years. Which as of this morning, is garbage. As you all know I have the doe in the house who has Mastitis.. she is in her cage recooperating nicely.. well it is driving Amy/Undergunfire's Mallory insane.. and he is enraptured with her, and He keeps getting out and sitting in front of her cage and pooping.

Apparently he got out in the night...what better way to express ones undying love than to chew the face, ears and feet off my teddy bear...

Ooh, did you get a car? I'm trying to think of an expensive item that you would have bought in the past and a car fits the ticket! Sorry to hear about the teddy bear and Mallory's attack, but it made me laugh :D Maybe since Valentine's Day was just yesterday, your husband can go back to Wally World and get you a new bear! That sounds like a cute tradition, my mom always gives me a frilly Valentine stuffed animal too.

I usually drive a Suzuki Katana in electric blue.. if you've ever seen the show Dark Angel.. Jessica Alba tools around town on one...

So I liked to imagine myself as a chunky dark angel tooling around Vidor, righting fashion wrongs...

Obviously that woulda taken alotta riding.. and frankly I aint got that kinda time.

So I saw this chick riding a Harley Davidson VRod at Mardi Gras.. and the reality of it is, I actually do need a bigger bike.. im 6ft3.. and I have slapped on some weight. I don't ride my other bike as much because I just feel like it would look like John Candy with a mini bike crammed up his rear..

So my husband found this one, it was a repo from a bank, and got it for a song.. it needs some work, but heck... I gots me a bike appropriate for my size!!

He has one in orange...won't we just be the cutest couple.. we can call ourselves the Wild Show Hawgs..

On the plus side.. at least Mallory didnt eat the tires off it in a jealous rage..

Well, my Valentine's Day started out great and went downhill quickly. I had to come home sick and spent the entire night hugging the toilet. We had plans to meet some friends for sushi, and my husband went by himself. That was actually OK with me, I wanted to be alone in my misery. I'm home sick today.

Love the hog Zin. You should send me your Katana :p I'm petrified of driving a car but have no fear of riding a bike lmao.

Well Errik and I slept in, we argued, went down to Bella Terra shopping center to walk around and grab job applications, and then drove around Huntington Beach just being silly. We finished the night off with being silly at home and falling asleep laughing. Honestly the best Valentine's I've ever had.
