USDA says Rabbits are Poultry??

i liked your video and encouragement to contact the authorities. people shouldn't just sign the petition, make a real bigstink. send a letter, send a fax, make a phone call. you'll get a form letter in response (i know b/c i sent a letter a long time ago when i first learned about it and whined). and when you boycott restaurants, make it vocal/clear why. at least you'll be a nuisance, and the bigger the nuisance the better. i especially like to include a photograph (or copy of a photo) of my bunny when i send a letter to my local restaurant or to the usda. pick a really cute snuggly one.

it's a weird position to take -- we really shouldn't be treating any of the farm/livestock animals the way we do. rabbits are oftenpets, but they don't suffer more or less than chickens or cows. i boycott all animal products for that reason. but admittedly, i am much more incensed when i see bunny on a menu than i am when i see cow.

Because its just like cat or dog owners-they would feel the same way if their pet was on the menu = (

I just lost my 2 girl buns- whom I bred 6 years ago, they got Myxi and after trying to save them with intensive homeopathic medicine, I could see it was too hard on them.

I took them to my vet with a heart heavier than lead, and had to say goodbye one last time and they were taken out the back of the clinic and put to sleep-much to my and my daughters distress-it was the best thing I could do for them.

Their names were Nelly and Thumper-my username-and I am doing the petition in response to their deaths that could have been prevented with a vaccine.

I love your buns-so very cute. please give them a snuggle for me. I miss my girls so much, and my vet says I shouldnt get another bunny for a few months due to it will likely get the disease that killed the others, and die too, so for the first time in over 10 years, I am bun less and feeling very out of sorts.

We badly need the vaccine. Thankyou for taking the time to help!

#133 on the Australian petition and I don't know what number on the US petition (sorry, didn't see the counter).

Did the officials in Australia not understand anything about globalization? What happens when the disease gets to another country because of a blood-sucking pest hitching a ride on a plane or ship? What a horrible way to die.... My sympathies to anyone who lost a pet bun this way.
